I also gave 30 days notice and they weren't bothered, no offers or anything just "goodbye"! been with them for 11 years. No fool like an old fool.....
As most SKY HD offers run out on the 10th June, one day before WCup it may be worth waiting until after the WC to see what the offers are. As a new customer, my OH says0 -
Just called sky and hit the option for "thinking of leaving", explained that we'd been a customer 5 years but had very good offer from virgin, pretty much same TV for around same price, but virgin would give us a Virgin+ box and free installation.
Best they offered was a reconditioned Sky+ box for £44, with free installation. I said I knew they were calling people and offering a new box for free, but he said that was Marketing department and nothing to do with him. Insisted this was the best he could do :-(
So now don't know whether to jump ship to virgin or stay with sky and see if I get the call at some point.0 -
I emailled sky and said I was going to leave due to various issues, which I listed and got nothing at all, only a standard letter saying sorry I was leaving, waited until the day of termination and got nothing at all. Anyway I got disconnected and rang them up complaining I had sent them a letter asking not to be disconnected, within a hour or so I was back up and running.........obviously they dont need the business anymore.
Anyway I am looking to try and combine all 3 services TV, internet and phone to one provider (TV with Sky, phone and internet with virginmedia), would prefer to go with sky, but they want a BT or other phone line and all I cn find is a BT line which they want £127.99 and tied to a 12 month contract which I dont want!
Has anybody any ideas on this? I am sure its been asked before. I understand the Post Office do a line connection for £110 with no contract, but wasn't sure if this line would be compatible with what Sky want.0 -

They're banking on you calling back to reverse your decision.
I did the same thing - called on May 21st to cancel to "save money" and they were happy to go through with it without offering anything else besides cutting back my channels. I have the full pack and phone/broadband and have been with them for three years so was surprised.
I was hoping to find a better deal with Virgin or Freesat but Virgin don't service my street and I don't think Sky Sports are available on Freesat.
If I call them back to reverse my decision what's the best way to play it to try and get a reduction for a few months? I thought they'd have written to me by now with an offer.
Thanks!0 -

Probably nothing. Your best bet is to re-join as a new customer, in someone else's name.0 -

I went to one of the stands in a shopping centre and explained I was in the cancellation peroid and the man was quite happy to "sign me up as a new customer " there and then. So I can't see why you can't sign as a new customer via one of these stands!
Personally I will wait util I have cancelled anf afters my holidays to see if they send me and offers to return or just get the OH to sign up if none are made..0
