    box was playing up so called to cancel, got a new HD box for nothing and was told no 12 mth contract. Letter came and it was a 12mth contract, called them up and told them I wanted to cancel and they gave me my package for half price. Very happy, box installed on Sunday gone and HD pictures are excellent.

    Phoned to "cancel" standard Sky+ account with Broadband Max package.

    Offered Free self install Sky+ HD.
    Broadband Max package (12 Months) for £7.50 p/m (Was paying £15.00 p/m)
    Existing TV Package (4 Mix) for £21.00 p/m
    Sky HD subscription for £10.00 p/m
    Telephone Line Rental for free for next 12 months. (was paying BT around £12.00 p/m)

    Basically now pay £38.50 p/m for everything.

    Very happy with deal as saving on Broadband cost and line rental and now have HD sub and new box without downgrading TV or Broadband package. Tried to see if they would also give me Sky+ HD subscription for free for 6 months but wouldn't budge on that. I'm guessing having the Broadband heavily discounted and free line rental all for full 12 months kind of made that a discount to far.

    phoned to cancel and they cancelled it. no offers. Tried to join BEST BUY opening sky offers on line with code from store, no email received .Tried again with a new code on line. viewing card arrived , installation on Wednesday. Installed on Wednesday skyHD box. Received another card on Thursday and installation on Friday. On Friday another skyHD box installed. Now I have 2 skyHD boxes and 2 subscriptions and 2 sky+ boxes.

    Rang Sky to cancel yesterday, currently paying £43 for entertainment pack (£23), HD pack and multiroom ((£10 each). The guy asked why I wanted to cancel and I said I could make do with the free to air channels.I was offered the entertainment pack at half price for 6 months so now paying £31.50.
    Will ring to cancel again in the new year ;)

    What are you likely to get off Sky if you are a new customer as opposed to finishing a 12 month contract? A friend of mine is looking to sign up to the TV, phone and broadband. She won't want the Sport package but may take the movies if the price is good. Are there any decent deals or is she best just signing up through a cash back site and trying for a deal in 12 months?

  • I am currently paying £19 for 2 entertainment packs and £10 for broadband and Sky Talk. Total of £29 a month.
    Phoned to cancel and said I was looking to either move to HD and was looking at Freesat HD and a cheaper broadband deal with another company. I was told they could only offer me £9.50 off my current TV pack for 6 months.
    So I have gone ahead with the cancellation.
    Has anyone cancelled and been called during the 31 day cancellation period and been offered a better deal?

    £9.50 off a £19 TV bill the same as I got off a £48.50

    So have you cancelled the whole Sky package ?

    I called to cancel as I was having problems with my signal and they offered me a free Sky+ HD box with free installation. Got the install then e-mailed them asking if there was anyway they'd give me a subscription to HD, thinking at best I'd get a 3 month taster and they've given me 12 months HD free! I was most pleased :) So I got a full HD upgrade all for free which is brilliant. I really like Sky so I was happy to not need to leave. I always find their customer service people really helpful. Anyway, thanks for all the posts on here as they inspired me to act.
