Hi
I currently pay £58.50 per month to Sky which is for the full package and multiroom.
I rang them today to ask about any offers, i told them i was thinking of downgrading to the minimum package or maybe even cancelling. They said the best they could offer me was a 20% discount for 6 months.
I am quite happy with that, but we are still paying a hell of a lot for something that we hardly use, but i am really confused - can anyone help.
I have 2 sky+ boxes in different rooms, if i cancel multi room which is £10 per month, will that box still work in the other room etc, will it only view what we are viewing in the first room, they guy at sky mentioned something about £25 for a viewing card but i had lost the plot by this time and did not understand what he was telling me....
Will the sky+ features ie-pause, record still work on the boxes if i cancel the package all together.
Am I better just downgrading to the minimum package £18 per month, or is this rubbish. I have built in freeview in my TV. Is it just the same as that.
Do you still get some free channels without subscribing?
So sorry for all the questions, not that clued up on this, i just know i have had sky for 10+ years paying full package and am now realising that i hardly ever use it.
Thanks in advance for any replies.Make the most of your days, enjoy your life.0 -
just cancelled my sky world sub with sports and movies.
I have had numerous problems with both of my sky hd boxes so requested if they would swap em out with pvr5's. They would make no offer except £200 per box. I would have been willing to pay for one new box on condition they scrap 2nd HD sub. Again nothing. I feel £78 per month is to much to pay to watch sky hd on boxes that are unreliable and have a mind of their own.
Sky were not willing to budge on price or new kit. guess its back to virgin for 12 months until i can rejoin as a new customer and hopefully the 2nd HD Sub will be gone as all multiroom customers pay a multiroom fee.0 -

Just phoned up to cancel as I want a cheaper deal. I said I would consider staying if I had a free sky+ box.
Apparently they don't make sky+ boxes anymore so offered me a sky hd+ box for £30 + £29 installation.
I said I would pay the £30 but not for the installation but they wouldn't do it so I cancelled. Does anyone know if they ever phone back with another offer or is that it?0 -
Are you already with sky? If not, maybe I could recommend you and we both
might get a free box? I don't know if they do that offer any more?0 -

Sky are currently offering free sky hd box with hd pack or
£49 without hd pack for new customers.
The sky hd box has now replaced the sky+ box and the standard digibox is only available with multiroom subscriptions.
As i am an existing customer (Was til 30 jan 2010) paying £78 per month to have had multiroom with sky world package, they were not prepaired to replace my faulty boxes or offer me any package deals, so i told them that il give my money to virgin media instead. I shall wait till i can sign up again as a new customer. (usually 12months after cancellation).
NOTE to new customers, Insist on a PVR5 sky hd box. this has a 500gb harddisk.0 -
Hi Please bear with me I am new to using forums and only hope I am doing this right.
I'm looking for advice on cutting the cost of my TV, phone and broadband package. I am currently with VIRGINMEDIA (wouldn't recommend them) and I have spoken to them about downgrading my packages in my New Year financial spring clean. I have been told that I can't downgrade as they are part of a bundle I can only ever increase my package. When I threatened to leave and look elsewhere I was told there would be a £180 cancellation fee. Either that or I'm stuck paying a fortune until November.
Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone suggest a way out without the financial penalty?
Thanks for your patience I hope I'm getting this right.0
