Member for 2yrs and i decided to give it a go. They wouldnt give me a free sky+ box in the end i had to pay £30 for a grade A (refurbished) box. They have a lot of offers they can give you so i suggest you do it folks, dont push too hard though as they can call your bluff.4 years of entering competitions daily and not a thing won. What a fix.0

Hi
I am with Virgin Media and used to have the 3 for £30 offer (TV, Phone & Broadband) I have just finished that offer and the bills have gone up from £30 to £70 per month. What can I do?0 -

Just called and told them I cant afford the normal package plus the sports and they offered nothing. Mabe its beacuse I been with them so long they no I would be unlikely to cancel and called my bluff.
Call their bluff back and ask to be put through to cancellations. They should offer you something at that point. If not, then go through with the cancellation as there is a 30 day notice period. That way if no offers are forthcoming you just ring them back a day before you're cut off and say you've changed your mind!0 -
Just got off the phone and they (cancellations dept) couldn't offer me anything at all. I said I'd had some problems with my sky+ box (I have) and the best they could do was chop down the £65 call out to £15.
No reduction in price apart from that.
How did you (previous posters) get 25% off!?!?
I would think that if you're aiming for a monthly price reduction that because you mentioned a faulty box that was the problem. They offered you a reduction on the call-out charge and they won't make 2 offers within a phone call. So you would either need to take the cheaper offer for the call out and get your box sorted, or live with a slightly dodgy box and try again for a monthly price reduction.0 -

Check out the Sky website and see what price you could get for those packages on there and then ring Virgin and tell them your switching to Sky and quote the deals to them. They should hopefully offer you something better than £70.0 -
I am tempted to get disconnected from virginmedia and go to SKY. I have till October on my contract, I understand I'll have to pay a disconnection fee. Does anyone know whether it has to be paid in full? or monthly as my bills were?
I pay £40pm for M Broadband (10mb), M TV and M Phone. (No DD charge, Paper billing included) Do you think this is a good deal?0 -
When you signed your commercial contract did you check what the compensation would be?
(I hope you weren't using a domestic product for business purposes.
And how do you utilise multiroom television as part of your business, anyway?)
I run a business from home and expressly informed Sky when I joined up that I'd be using the phone line and broadband for business. They confirmed this was absolutely fine ! I even had conversations with them about VAT charges for business invoicing purposes (they don't charge uk vat)
My 12 month contract is coming to an end and I'm going to see what they can do with the price.
Their broadband is running at an incredible 2Mbs so I feel a call to Virgin coming on...0 -
Phoned Sky to reduce my package costs by getting rid of Movies and Sport - saving me £24 pm:money:. I was hoping to get a bit of a deal but didn't really care if I got one or not as these channels are rarely watched.
They said, "OK" and two hours later no movies or sport. Looks like Sky have been reading this forum and got a bit wise.
£24 a month better off though.0 -
I just called Sky to try and get a retention deal as I've just hit a year. I obviously didn't say the right things as the guy said "since you only really watch a few shows on sky1 and mostly freeview channels then I have no deals for you." I asked about HD deals but he said there were no deals available for me as I've only been with sky for a year. Anybody have any suggestions?0

I often upgrade and downgrade my package by adding/removing Sports or Movies.
I currently have 3 mixes and Movies. Just phoned (used 01506 831609) to cancel Movies and was offered a reduction of £8 on the package for 6 months - £28.50 instead of £35.50.
I declined and stuck with the 3 mixes for now!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
