Thanks for everyones advice. Cancelled Sky last month, they turned it off on Monday of this week. Called today, said I was thinking of Sky+, asked for a quote, and was told £199 + £60 install. I complained and said I would go to Virgin, the guy went away, and came back with FREE Sky+, and FREE installation, and all I had to take was the basic package at £16.50 a month for the year.
Thanks0 -
As money has become a issue at home, we are considering coming away from SKY. Could anyone tell me, if you have SKY tv, braodband and telephone, can you come away from just the SKY tv and just have the broadband and telephone?.

Just to let you know. I rang up to cancel Sky. Only had the basic package plus 2 additions (entertainment and music), free broadband and telephone.
Was paying around £19 a month for this but was offered £3 per month for the next 4 months. Good £64 saving and will phone again in 4 months time.0 -
Bagger!
Oh well, better give the wife the good news then.
Thanks carpy. Thought I would ask here before making a plank of myself giving SKY a call.0 -
Hi
Looking to reduce my parents virgin bill and they are interested in Sky. What is the least that they would have to pay to sky for the three products but with Broadband MAX not the cheapest broadband? There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0 -
Just talked to Sky on 01506-421722 to cancel my Sky TV subscription. That guy on the phone offered me free weekend calls and free broadband with 2MB speed. To which I declined his offer since it was not very attractive. So then he got ready to cancel my Sky TV.
Since I have given him 30 days notice, I will wait and see if Sky sales guys come back to me with any offer as some members have reported here in this forum.0 -

They probably won't during the 30 days notice. You generally have to actually go through with the cancellation and then either they call or you call them for a new deal.0 -
I cancelled my Sky subscription (£21.00 a month) back in December to take effect in January. I thought somebody from Sky would have contacted me by now offereing a deal - nope not a dickie bird!
Problem is I miss Sky and my kids are nagging me like mad. Has anybody phoned up, eaten humble pie, and asked the nice customer services person to turn it back on? If so did they get a deal?0 -
I am looking for a little bit of advice. I have Sky + under contract. The contract has some way to go but it looks like I am going to moving shortly. What would Sky charge me for the move? Would they just charge me there standing move fee and continue the contract at the new place or would they slug me the cancellation fee for the contract and then a move fee? If they are going to slug me for both then I might cancel it altogether or get my partner to ring up and set up a new account at our new place? Anyone have any suggestions.0
