  • Excellent! Followed the 01506 number instructions. Said I wanted to cut out the movies and save some money. Also mentioned that my sky+ box was faulty and needed a £65 engineer visit (true) so was wondering if I could save that money with any offers for HD. She offered me the £75+30 offer as long as stayed signed up for the full package for 12months.

  • We currently have the Sky package, broadband, phone, tv and have the Skycards too. We had a letter from Sky saying that our bill would be rising to £55 a month. They were charging us £17 per month for broadband but we got this reduced for 12 months to £5 because we only get a max of 2mb (or it is KB not sure but it is very minimal) as our exchange is old. This "offer" ends soon and the £55 includes the £17 broadband. For tv we have a three channel mix plus the sports package. We rang Sky to say that we were not happy with the increases and all they said was that they were happy to cancel our package and they could do it then and there over the phone!

So much for their wanting our business. Anyone else had a similar experience?
  • Having really looked at my last Sky bill properly I'm horrified to see I'm paying £43.55 for Sky world with family pack, £1.52 for Sky world with family pack (one day rental for some reason), £10 Sky+HD mix, £5 for Broadband and £10.27 for Sky talk calls. I pay BT £10.50 line rental.
I was going to ask BT to take over the calls on their Unlimited Anytime package but I see some posters are getting this for free on Sky Talk.
I think I'm being ripped off. I've been with Sky for well over 10 years so do I have any clout in asking for reductions?
BTW, having had really bad experiences with Virgin, I wouldn't take their services if they paid me to do so

Just got off the phone from Sky and, after asking them to cancel it, have been offered Sky Unlimited Anytime free for 12 months.
    I'm well chuffed!

    SKY TV

I've just managed to get down from £47 a month (all sky channels) to £30 a month for 3 months, (£51 off).

I started off talking to Arif in India, said I wanted to "discuss my current package", "I'm thinking of removing Movies and Sports"

After a bit of chat and him verifying my account he transferred me to Gary in the "Downgrades" department (somehwere in Scotland :T )

I told him the genuine story that I'm a Rangers fan, we've just been put out the Champions League, they don't have a Scotland match for a while, Setanta do. Why do I need Sky Sports ??

He paused and waffled for a wee bit and I just cut to the chase and said "I've been a customer for a while, have you any offers"

He offered me £30 a month for 3 months.

Just used the no 0870 website, think the number was 01506 831006

I also phoned tonight (Wednesday) as someone else posted earlier in this thread that each agent has an allotted number of offers that ends on a Thursday, Wednesday is the best night.

Get yourself £51 off everyone! :T

I'm currently signed up to Virgin Media's 3 for £30 deal - 2MB Broadband, 'L' TV and a land line. I'm coming to the end of the year's contract, and I want to reduce my spend on this, but I'm not sure if I can manage anything. Ideally, I'd like to keep the internet, lose the land line, and reduce TV to 'M' - which is basically freeview with one or two extras as far as I can tell.

I don't get terrestrial reception (digital or analogue), so dumping cable TV is out of the question.

My mobile is £15 per month with 1500 off peak calls to any network, and unlimited O2 calls, so that'll easily cover all of my phone needs (despite the dodgy reception!)

Does anyone think I'll have any luck trying to reduce my services to just internet and the smallest TV package and save any money?
