  • Today whilst in Hull I noticed an offer at Curry's Digital (Prospect Centre) for a free Sky+ box. All you needed to pay was the £30 installation fee. I have been contemplating on getting Sky+ for the last few months but could never justify forking out the £100 odd quid to get the box plus the £30 installation fee on top. The only thing with this deal is that you have to sign up to one of the premium channels (Sky Sports or Sky Movies), however, you can cancel this after the first month if you wish and just stick with the entertainment channels. Needless to say I have now signed up to this offer at the Curry's Digital store. Installation will take place in a weeks time, and I will be paying £38 a month for all of the entertainment channels, and Sky Sports 1 & 2. Without the premium channel it would cost me £21 (after the first month) should I wish to cancel it. Hope this helps new Sky customers who are looking for good Sky+ deals.

my sister in law rang sky yesterday and said that they could no longer afford the £45 a month sky world package so were going to cancel - she was offered the same package for £25 a month for 3 months which she took up - it just goes to show that there is no structure to sky's discounts it all depends on who you speak to on the particular day
I was with sky for much longer than her and on the same package but despite several attempts both by phone and e mail have got nowhere !

I'm in the middle of cancelling my sky account at the moment in order to try and get sky+ like other people. I've rang up a few times and all I'm getting is the £99 deal. I don't really want to leave Sky but I'm not prepared to pay that much for it.
    What should I do?

I too threatened to leave sky and got offered sky plus for £49.99 and free instalation, which I accepted, however I did phone last week for my gran and she got free sky plus and free instalation. When I mentioned this to the manager she told me that the free offers were stopped on 30th may. Apparantley they got an email sent to all staff telling them they could not give any more away! I would be curious to find out if anyone got a free one after this date.

I wanted to cancel sports and movies on my sky plus package about 6 months ago, but I was told that if I didn't have either,I would have to pay £10 a month for sky +. Someone told me that this is no longer the case, so is it possible for me to cancel both sports and movies and just pay for the multichannels without being hit with an extra fee for the sky + facility?

  • Hi every1 ,
basically got sky + installed last week,
got the box for free but had to pay 30 quid,
however im not happy with the service,
my broadband is still not set up and sky + sometimes stops starts and then doesnt turn on for 10 mins,

also the fact that i am gonna get new hdtv in a months time
was wondering how far i could ride my luck and get a free sky hd box,

im gonna threaten to cancel due to bad service, bad equipment, and the fact that virgin offerring me better deal with free V+ box, and free installation.

How low do u think they will go ?
    Thanks
