I have freeview built in to my new tv and when I cancelled sky I can watch most things on that but I also have access to a few free sky channels via the sky box which I have left connected including a couple of extra movie channels men and motors etc - still trying for a deal on a hd box have had the offer of free sky + with £49 fitting but hanging out for hd !0

I've had sky for many years and I want to reduce my subscription, I want to cancel skysports until September because I think there is nothing on in the summer worth paying the extra for. What will they offer me and do I have to pay a reconnection of skysports when I upgrade in September. Already have sky+.
Thanks0 -
I'm looking at the VM XL package (TV/internet/phone) for £85 a month. Does this include sky movies/sports or are these an extra cost?.
Yes the above includes all sports (including Setanta)/movies available on Virgin other than box office events and is unlimited UK geographic non-mobile phone calls and 20MEG braodband.
Has anyone got a better deal from them that £85 per month?
Also, separetly, I have vouchers from Sky for free Sky+ provided you are a new customer and take a premium package for a year. Can provide more details if you PM me.0 -
So i don't have to go through customer services? My dads been looking to go back to them and he rang on Saturday and was offered £50each for recommending, xl tv, med BB, unlimited call £37.95 for 1st 3 months, then it would be £48, he rang back today and asked if there were any better deals? as he only pays £44 with sky, the girl he spoke to said if you know what the deal is you have been offered why are you ringing back?! HAH cheeky mare! and the package would now be nearly £50 per month. Is this a good way to attract customers back? i don't think so! he really would like to go back to VM and we both want the virgin+ boxes (we'd use the £50 each towards the cost). So if anyone had an email address i could use to complain that would be great, even better if they offered him a better deal
Thanks x0 -

if you email james murdoch you might get a knock back at first but go back and say can you give me free sky+ or a discount to stay, they wont offer it to you you have to ask the question. I found it works, though nothing on HD, hope you have the same luck.0

I've been a sky customer for several years now and my current 12 month contract is about to end, so I called sky customer services and said that I was considering cancelling and getting the new Freesat HD box. I reminded them of the fact that I have Sky multiroom (one standard and one sky+ box) and pay almost £600 per year in subscriptions (before any box office products). At first they were just going to accept my request to cancel, However when i asked if there was any thing they could offer that might change my mind they suggested a free sky+ box and free installation, (this is exactly what i wanted, you dont ask you dont get). So the new box should be getting installed tomorrow and it hasn't cost me a penny, apart from the cost of a call. If you try the same thing dont accept their first response they are always able to do more than they let on, although you may get someone who really is unhelpful if this is the case just hang up, call back and speak to someone else. 99 percent of the time they'll do all they can to retain a valuable customer. Why not try it, you've got nothing to lose.0

I have been with Virgin media (formally NTL) for around 10 years.
We have 3 boxes in the house and also phone line. I have decided to get their broadband as ours (AOL) is too expensive.
They have offered the lowest they can do is £54.60 a month
This s for 3 boxes
XL packge (not including sports/movies)
Phone line
Broadband 2md deal
Not sure if this a good deal only decreasing my monthly bill by a few pounds (although gaining by getting rid of aol).
Am sure i should have got more off but like to know wother peoples thoughts!
Thanks in advance
