How do these people get the 3 for 30 then?

That's usually M phone and M broadband and at the moment L TV.

    So only weekend calls.
    2Mbit broadband
and not all the TV channels and no Sports or Movies.

You might be able to get that offer if you are persistent. You should be able to get Free Caller Display too if you tell them Sky and BT offer it free (That's how I got it free).

It's usually just for new customers or those who are adding a service. If you alter the service then standard rates apply, so you are more or less stuck on that package to keep the price low.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

3 for 30 is only weekend landline calls included on phone

    ETA : What about this

nearly half what you pay now and includes talk mobile (whatever that is)

ETAA : try skype for DD :D

Talk International drops some of the call rates down to certain countries.

Talk Mobile drops the cost of calling UK mobiles down slightly - however compared to what you can pay from a BT line using Call 18185 they are still high.

Still they are part of the package.

You could always use Call 18185 for International calls and for some calls to UK mobiles and then use VM when they are cheaper.

You should get a better deal however if you go through to cancel.

  • Hi,
This is my first post on this forum although i have been reading it for advice for a while.
Well i have been interested in getting sky+ fitted for all the obvious benefits and thought i would ring them today to see what thay could do for me. Using a free number from say no to 0870 i rang and said that virgin were offering me a free V+ box with the equivalent phone and internet deal that i am on now with sky (i have everything with sky, including multiroom). I told them that i wished to cancel my sky account and switch to virgin. They said they couldn't do it for free but for £99 including installation. I then told them that i would ring back later after considering their offer. About an hour later i rang back saying that i wished to cancel as the offer of £99 was not good enough. The man then told me that he would see whether he could do anything better for me. He came back with an offer of free sky talk unlimited for 12 months which would save me £60 and half price multiroom for 6 months which would save me £30. I would still have to pay the £99 for sky+ but essentially i am only paying £9 as i am saving £90 on other things. I accepted and am having it fitted next monday! The other good thing is he said the box would be the brand new PVR3 one, not a refurb! Just wanted to post this incase there are others in my situation who might want to do the same. Obviously if you don't have sky talk and multiroom it wouldn't be any good. O yeah also just the other day my sky box had been playing up so i rang them to fix it but as i am out of warranty they said £65 to replace the dish. I had been reading the advice on this forum so i knew to say i'm going to cancel and was then offered it for £32.50. I still said not good enough and in the end they did it for free! Want to say thanks to all the people on this forum because i have saved a lot of money because of you!

As per my previous post my OH is moving out next week and is trying to get Sky tv, Broadband and Talk. Spoke to BT this morning about reconnecting phone line and was told that he would not be able to take Sky Talk for 12 months as he would be subject to a 12 month BT contract. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?
  • Does anyone with Sky want to recommend me to Sky and get us both free Sky+? http://friend.sky.com/ Needs to be done today as offer closes tomorrow.

I was on Virgin's VIP package paying £85 per month (Top package with 20 MB broadband, XL tv package and XL phone package). Phoned them up quoting to leave and quoted prices from sky and talk talk. They have reduced the monthly cost to £40 plus a one off fee of £75 for the V+ box(still their box and they maintain it). Broadband dropped to 4MB though and no calls free during the day (at work anyway. So from paying £1020 per year now paying £480 plus a one off £75 therfore saving £465 per year.
