Still........
I don't know what a PVR box is? If I don't pay any monthly fee to KSY surely I would not get the SKY movies and other channels ???? I cannot get Virgin as we are not cabled in my area, so I reckon I am still OK?0 -
Please feel free to move this as i am not sure where to post it! sorry if wrong.
I have just moved into new home my first one!
I received an offer from Sky yesterday and wanted to check with some one if it was any good or not?
They are offering a sky plus box for £79 on off payment
plus a monthly fee of £45 for sports and Movies
Boardband extra £17.99 monthly fee
and if i wanted unlimted call it would be £5 monthly fee
they are going refund £124 for A BT line connection which i will have to pay up front.
Does this sound ok?
many thanks0 -

Sounds pretty good, although you may be able to negotiate a bit better package on the TV, Broadband and Phone package with them,(£68 sounds a bit high....but the £124 refund may balance this out) and I know that Quidco were offering around £120 if you went through them(for Sky Plus)......so it may be worth investigating those two avenues....I dont know any more about them...
You may still need to pay BT line rental as well
ADDENDUM..my answer above was in reply to the post above which was on a new thread, i have not read any of the previous posts on this thread, and my answer may now not be relevant on this threadCouponing....."every little hurts"

Does sound like a good package. Last time I was looking in to changing ADSL and phone providers Sky/Easynet at the top as some of their exchanges are being upgraded to 24meg and offer good usage quotas. Cable/Virgin still offer the best all in package but as they are not rolling out fibre anymore you have to be in a precabled area.
You should check the t & c to make sure this is a 12 month contract and not a 24 month contract otherwise you might be hit with major charges if you decide to leave at a later date. You may still need to pay BT line rental as well
No this is a one off connection charge for the jumpering work needed at the exchange. The line rental is through Sky (Easynet) as they are an LLU provider. Sky/Easynet pay BT Openreach or BT Wholesale line rental for these lines each month and you just pay the connection charge.0 -
Suggest you look at my posts on the "Warning" thread, use the email addresses on there and ask whether or not they wish to keep loyal customers.
I rang yesterday to cancel and they offered my Sky+ for £99 and free installation. They were worse than indifferent so I cancelled. I then wrote an email as suggested above and this was the response I got today
Dear MrsThank you for your email dated 12 March 2008 addressed to *********, which has been passed for my attention. Our agreement with you is to provide viewing services of your chosen viewing option and this we have done. Sky does make available promotional offers to new and past customers. However, long-standing active customers are also invited to upgrade from time to time in response to promotional marketing mailings, which are issued. We do not consider our policy to be unusual in comparison to many major service providers, our aim is not only to provide excellent viewing services to our customers, but also to ensure that new business continues to be improved.
Your comments with regard to the cost of upgrading to Sky+ have been noted and I can confirm that the current cost of a Sky+ box is £99.00 with £60.00 installation fee being a total of £159.00.
We want all our customers to have the best service possible and I'm sorry that in this instance you feel we failed to live up to this goal. Having checked our records I note that you had previously been offered free installation and and I am disappointed that this offer had not been accepted in the spirit in which it was intended.
I am sorry that my response could not be more favourable.
Kind Regards
Customer Liaison ConsultantReally annoyed as I am now going to have to swallow my pride and reinstate as we don't even have a working terrestial aerial and would have to wait a week to have it installed if I got husband to ring as a new customer. With 4 kids and during Super League season a week without Sky is not even an option. I can't even get Virgin as I live in KC area. AGHHH! So frustrating0 -

My Sky + box has just packed in. I have two Sky + boxes and sky talk. When we were went on to sky plus we had numerus problems, too long to go into but the saga resulted in eleven engineer visits. They have offered me a half price engineers visit to include a new sky plus box for £32.50. At the moment I pay £48 plus £5 for skytalk . Is this a good enough deal or should I try for something better. Any help would be appreciated as I have to call them on Monday.0

I am out of contract with sky and my BT broadband is up on the 25th. I phoned sky and asked about staying and getting sky+, multi room and broadband. I shouldn't have bothered. I spoke to a woman who told me she would cancel me today if that is what i wanted. I said i wanted prices to stay and she basically told me all the prices were on the website.
I am considering BT Vision or AOL. I live in N Ireland so a lot of the offers are not available over here. Does anyone have any ideas on where i can go from here?I like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet.;)0
