  • rang sky to cancel my contract in the hope I would get a Sky + box - made a rookie error is saying I would go to Virgin till they pointed out there is no cable in my area (oops!)
Long call resulted in being offer a box for £99 with free installation if I signed up to Sky Talk - crap offer as this on their website anyway. After the long discussion they asked if I wanted to cancel and I said not at the moment. It is sooooooo annoying as they boxes must be so cheap and the £60 fitting fee is a joke. Anyone any other ideas how I can get a free/cheap box - ebay any good? can you fit them yourself?

i also had this crap offer from sky after being a customer for 12+ years so i followed through with threat to cancel. i am waiting a couple more weeks and then my husband is going to call up as a 'new customer' and say i am no longer living at the address. if you go on the sky referrals thread there are plenty of people with vouchers for the free sky+ box offer for new customers. you will also get advice on latest deals and offers that anyone else has had.

They didn't offer us any deals only downgrade!

Could be that I said my son has moved out and oh and myself don't really watch much only odd movies.

Will see how much its missed then decide if to take up a new deal.

Just phoned Sky as have been with them for years on full package. Was cancelling movies anyway as never watch them but want to keep sport and all the others. Best deal I could get after saying I might cancel was £29.50 for 3 months which is better than nothing. I used the latest phone number off the saynoto0870 website which is 01506 421702 which I got straight through on if that helps anyone with their phone bill.

    Hi,

As an existing customer I wanted to upgrade to Sky Plus, so rang them. They said that they are currently not doing any deals on upgrades, so I threatened to cancel. Still didn't offer me any deal!!! Have just re-instigated my account, after having thought they might ring me back with an offer, but no!!

I have two Introduce a friend to Sky Plus offers, You get sky plus for free (£209), which also gives me Sky Plus upgrade for free. This seems to be the only way at the moment to get Sky Plus without forking out a fortune.

If anyone wants a code please PM me so that we can both benefit. The offer is valid until 7th March.

    Cheers.

    How does this work then?
Sky gives you and me sky plus for free, so what do they get out of it??

They get to keep you for 12 months as you have to sign up for a 12 month contract and from me, i either have to stay for 12 months and subscribe or pay them £10 per month for the sky+ feature as this is also a 12 month contract. Therefore they get money either way.

I have PM'd you a code if you want it. Can you let me know you contract number, account holders details and installation address as i will then need to provide these to sky to get the deal validated.

    Thanks

We are thinking of getting sky/sky + not really sure of the difference!! Never had it before.
Our broadband and phone is Talk talk but think we have been with them long enough to be able to cancel. Think we pay £30 or maybe £25 a month.

Is there a sky package we can get to include phone and broad band and the t.v thing??
And does anyone have any idea how much it would be each month??

We are moving our T.V into a different room that has a really bad signal so our neighbour suggested a sky box rather than messing around drilling holes through the wall for ariels that may not even work anyway???

I am an existing sky customer so how does this work. i just want to upgrade to SKY plus - will this still work and how much will it cost me to do?
  • After reading this forum I called virgin to cancel my 2mb broadband/phone/freeview tv package (£29.50 per month), saying i was interested in Sky + which was offered for free (it wasnt). Three days later i have had a call and been offered V+ box for free, no charges, xl tv package, broadband and phoneline for £30 month. Result
