Top Cash Back are offering £150 cashback for changing to Sky, their basic package for broadband, phone (E&W) and TV is £16 a month (plus BT line rental). So this will take it up to £26 per month and we'll be getting £150 cashback. At the mo we're with Virgin and paying £30 a month. Just rang them and asked what they could offer us and they could only drop it down to £27.** a month which meant downgrading the tv package we have. I thought that this was a pretty rubbish deal and asked to cancel, which they were very obliging to do!
Any ideas of what I could go back and ask for?0 -
Just phoned Sky as have been with them for years on full package. Was cancelling movies anyway as never watch them but want to keep sport and all the others. Best deal I could get after saying I might cancel was £29.50 for 3 months which is better than nothing. I used the latest phone number off the saynoto0870 website which is 01506 421702 which I got straight through on if that helps anyone with their phone bill.
Thanks Magicstar. I just called Sky to cancel movies and they offered me £33 for 3 months. I normally pay £45 (+HD +Multiroom). My Sky package without movies would be £38. Just need to decide what to do in 3 months time.0 -
We rung Sky and requested to cancel on the basis that we could not afford the contract any more. Having read through the forums I thought they would offer me a deal on a reduced rate for a period of time. I note some people were offered 1p a month for 6 months. The guy that answered my call simply said fine and gave us 30 days notice.
I don't really want to have it cancelled. will they call me back before the 30 days0 -
they didnt call me back. quite happy to let a customer of 12+ years go so dont hold your breath. you can always call them back and say you have changed your mind for now and if you get a more helpful person on the phone you might get a deal if you are lucky.0

Hi,
I'm currently getting Sky free for one year, with one package. I think there is also the option of more than this, but for a shorter period (and possibly with a reduced payment).
How?
Easy - befriend the lady in the local supermarket, find her OH's mobile phone in a car park one evening, return it to them and find out OH works for Sky.
He gets several vouchers a year that allow people who have never had Sky before to get a deal on it. Other parts to this deal include free installation, a free Sky box (or big reductions on a Sky+ or Sky+ HD box- both £100 instead of full price) , etc, but the main part is the £16 a month of free TV.
I think for the Sky HD box you also have to subscribe to the HD service at £10 a month but I didn't go for that.
So, for those people who have stuck with me through my poor storytelling skills, you can get this offer if
1. you've never had Sky before
2. you know a friendly Sky employee who has a spare codeVirtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750
