It made sense to me when typing it but thats always the case, with the sky deal for new customers 1/2 package for 12 months i will be paying £37.50 a month for all tv channels including movies and sports, 16 mb broadband and talk unlimited but for the first 6 months i will have talk unlimited free hence only paying £32.50.
So taking the dearest 6 months i will be paying £37.50 to sky, £11 to BT and then £10 to setanta meaning i will be paying £58.50 per month for having sky against the £81 per month to virgin, 12 months with sky/bt will cost £672 against 12 months @ £81 with virgin £972 means a nice £300 saving for the 12 months.
Is that any clearer?
Yes thanks thats a lot better! Took it that you were also paying £25mth for sky+ services not just the install! Fantastic deal! Do you already have a satellite dish attached or don't you need that these days? Are you an existing sky customer and what number did you call please?Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

I also paid a one off fee of £25 presuming thats to cover sky+ and installation, no other charges were mentioned apart from my monthly charge and no i dont have any dish or reciever, having never had sky before i just presumed that was included or is that wrong? The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
might be worth double checking that you aren't paying £25 extra a mth too? Seems very cheap and almost too good to be true! Well done!
I just wish we didnt have to have a dish on the house!Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

No extra charges, he asked for one off payment for the £25 via debit/credit card, and for a saving of £300 the dish wont bother us that much;)The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Just thought I'd let you know I called Sky this morning with the intention of cancelling my Sports and Movies as it is too expensive at £45 per month. I have just finished a 20% off for 12 months deal with them and now it's just gone back up to £45. Anyway spoke to a nice Scottish lady, told her I just wanted the basic £21 entertainment package, and she said because I was a loyal customer I could have the Sky World package at £33 for the next 3 months, and I didn't have to enter into another contract.
Will defo cancel after the 3 months and go onto the £21 package, but it's saved a few quid in the meantime - and it looks like they must have a few deals to give away over Christmas.
Also, Setanta Sports are offering 2 months free trial for just £1 - visit www.setanta.com/offer and enter code 2001, you need to cancel after the two months or it's £10 per month.
Rang and spoke to cancellations just now who advised they have no package deals and (above person) must have been "lucky"
I gave 30 days notice to cancel.. will see if they call back?
wont miss the programmes as there are only a few on sky I watch but I WILL miss the sky+ record facility
will start saving for a PVR boxNever pass up the opportunity to take a pee!:p0 -

If you're not that bothered about the subscription channels, you can wait until spring next year when the BBC/ITV Freesat spec boxes should hit the market. Some of these will be PVR, some will also be HDTV spec. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I am getting really annoyed with Sky almost every week now they phone asking for my details (house name or number, post code, sky card no, and last digits of my card) stating the data protection act, when asked why they are phoning me they answer "to tell me about all the latest offers" give me strength.

This sounds a bit odd to me, if you're already a Sky customer shouldn't they already have all this information?I've been a Sky customer for years and I've never had any phone calls like this. Has anyone else?

Never speak to anyone who calls you and asks for account details, be it someone saying they are from Sky, your bank, your credit card etc.
Just tell them "Sorry, you could be anyone, I refuse to give out those details on an incoming call, goodbye". and put the phone down. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
