I don't know how you all do it??? I have tried loads of times for months to get a half price package and they offer me nothing! I had the full package over Christmas and wanted to continue it for the NFL season, so after a month was up I rang and cancelled it. The offered me £30 a month for the full package for 3 months. Not too bad, but not half. I told them it was still too much and so they cancelled my deal as I requested. Now what do I do?

    :j :j :j Ha ha.
Having rejected the above deal, I caled back to see if this was still available as I do want to watch the NFL playoffs this weekend. I ended up speaking to an asian sounding chap, who to be honest had not a clue what I was saying, I tried and failed to communicate. 30 minutes later He eventually gave up too and gave me a new number to call. It turned out to be the worng number! Anyway I did get passed on to a Scottish lady who instantly gave me the half price deal for 3 months...... YES
One thing that did come to light was, she said " this is not an advertised deal, but one we offer to people who are struggling financially to help them out for a time. Before your 3 months is up, call us again and we can put you on stage 2, you are entitled to 3 x 3 month deals per year." This may help when trying to get your cheap package. Remember you are suffering financial hardship.

i phoned up this afternoon and got my family package reduced to half price for three month straight away!
  • We rang to cancel in November in the hope of getting a 3 month deal, were not offered any discounts (hubby very polite etc but spoke to a right grump!), and so Sky was cancelled on 15th December :(

Previously we were Sky customers for over 10yrs with just the odd break of a couple of months for financial reasons

We are missing it, would really prefer Sky+ so wonder if anyone has been in this situation before and been offered any deals to re-join ?

    Hi
I cancelled Sky about 2 years ago because I got sick of paying so much
I have had various 1/2 price offers by phone and in the post and mid last year was sorely tempted by a £40 JJB voucher and half price fer 3 months but held out as stuff all was on in the summer
Just got offered the £50 Argos voucher and paid 3 months 1/2 price basic package for £22-50 with a card and they said I could cancel after 2 months to get out at 3 months

So just bought a photo printer with £50 off - thanks Rupert
  • Can I just add to my previous posts, having seriously haggled twice with Sky (once for the Sky+: free installation, £49 box, no multiroom) and the second time this week to negotiate 25% off our bill for 12 months, we're now paying LESS for the same channels WITH Sky+ than we were paying for these channels WITHOUT Sky+ this time last year!

For anyone thinking of giving it a go, it's well worth it, I'm chuffed to bits with the end result (thanks Martin and forum members for the advice).

Also, for anyone toying with the idea of getting Sky+, it's absolutely FAB, and if you can get it for a bargain price I doubt you'll ever look back.

    Hi SarahSaver

I'm gonna try and get the Sky+ for £49 deal. How long did you wait to get the 25% off for the year as I'd like that too ;)

I did have the 3 months half price back in August as well.

Bit worried they might let me cancel though as I took out the Prem Plus subscription for £50 in August as well.

Do you think I'll be eligible for anything?

  • Hi WJUK, I'd definitely give it a go, they seem to be pretty flexible at the moment, they must be losing lots of customers. We've only had Sky+ since September, so I was surprised to be offered the same deals as everyone else, it seemed to good to be true but they've confirmed it in writing so I'm safe!

Lay it on thick that you feel you're being penalised for being a loyal customer, as they're promoting their new customer deals EVERYWHERE at the moment, you can't avoid them.

    Good luck!

Was wondering if someone can help.

I have had Sky+ multiroom for 16 months, but after the 12 month period ended i then upgraded to Sky+ in the bedroom, so i have 2 Sky+ boxes now. But she said to me this will tie you in for another 12 months on multiroom contract. Now what are the chances of getting some sort of half price deal? I want to cancel the movies anyway as dont watch them.

Has anybody got a deal when they are stil in a 12month multiroom contract?

IMHO Sky is the biggest rip off ever! Such a lot of money for a very little amount of channels.
We have gone freeview instead - now that e4 is free it's brill.

You can only get these deals from the cancellations dept WHEN you threaten to cancel. They will be able to tell that you are within a new 12 month contract, but not all operators read the screens correctly. May be worth a try, they may not check that you have new equipment and just look at the length of time you have had sky...... so don't mention it....just threaten to cancel.
