Digital TV Cost Cutting Article - Discuss What You've Been Offered

I was offered sky sports for £18.50 a couple of weeks ago, so don't think it's a brand new offer. I really really want a v+ box (but really really don't want to pay £150 and also don't want the vip package) - any successful haggling on that?0
-
is sky only offering sky + box's now , not cheaper monthly suscriptions?0

Except in very rare cases yes - got a Sky+ for my Mother @ £49 tho' - nowt for myself as I've had one for years.0

Any ideas on what is available tv package wise? I am with Virgin already, been with for a number of years (telewest) only have boradband. I want to get tv also but not sure if to go with them or sky or what? Don't want to spend loads, max is about £25 month. Any ideas on how to make them give me a good package at a knock down price, I'm usually good at this kind of thing, but becasue I haven't had tv with them before don't really know how to broach the topic.0

My Mum was committed to a minimum 12 month deal - the only minimum payment being the cheapest package available - £16 a month I believe.0

I got a letter from Sky this week saying that any 'friend' that I recommend will receive their Sky+ box and installation for free (saving £130) and I will get some M&S vouchers. The only catch is that it needs to be a new sky customer.
If anyone is interested PM me and I will send you the code.
