2MB broadband (£9.99 special deal)
Talk Unlimited phone (£25)
I phoned yesterday and was offered:
2MB broadband
Talk Unlimited Phone
XL TV Package
V+ Box
for £54.99
I talked it over with my husband and phoned back today to take up the offer. The woman I spoke to immediately said she could better the offer and reduced it to £44.95 confirming also that it is a life deal so I will not have to worry about phoning back in a couple of months to renegotiate. I am a very happy bunny!
Phoned again to discuss the loss of some of the Sky channels and was offered Sports and Movies plus extra set top box bringing my final monthly total to £55. I am over the moon! It really does seem to depend on who you talk to and the deals available vary widely. I just hope the bill is correct when it comes in.0 -

Mines going off on 23rd of this month as I cancelled last month because they wouldnt contine my half price offer but does it mean if I ring them up once its gone off I can start a new contract in my name again and get a sky+ box free with free installation?Thanx

I called on the back of the half price for a year offer and was told I had to sign up for a new 12 month contract. I did this and then called Customer Service to link the two accounts together (I pay £10pm for Sky+ but this isn't considered as a subscription by Sky) and was told the offer wasn't valid for me but that I could have an offer of 2 mixes free for 6 months so equates to the same cost. My reasoning for calling customer service after successfully getting the deal (before anyone questions) was that I didn't want a new account with Sky or to wait for a new viewing card.Consider anything only don't cry!0

Just phoned up on 08702432018 and got straight through - said I had received a letter telling me to quote "FREE TRIAL" and new account was set up in no time, no problems. New card being sent out, then it's the full package for £21.75/mth for 12 mths. SORTED!I love a nice juicy "kebab"...0

Phoned today to discuss lack of sky one. Was paying £45 for phone, 4mb broadband and starter tv (old telewest package).
Now on phone (free evening and weekend calls), 4mb broadband and XL TV (everything except premium channels) for £35 reduced to £25 for the next 6 months. No new contract so I can still cancel if I shop around and switch if I decide to.
Definately worth the phone call - on hold for 20mins tho.

I've just had my Virgin Media bill. I am being charged for the basic TV package, which used to include Sky One. This does not exist on their web-site. It is M, L, or XL. I don't know what I'm supposed to be getting now for the extra money.No one is answering the phone now at Virgin Media customer services.
M is supposed to be free with a Virgin telephone package, which I have got. Has anybody got this? It looks just like Freeview, which is all I want if I can't get Sky One.
Also I've started to compare what I pay with cable against what I could pay with Sky:
My Cable= Broadband 4mb unlimited download £25
Telephone line rental £10.50
Telephone cost evenings and weekends £5.50
Basic TV (no Sky) £5.50
Total = £46.50 per month.
Sky Max= Broadband 16mb unlimited download £10
Telephone line rental £11
Telephone cost, unlimited day, evening and weekends to land-lines £5
Basic Sky TV £15
Total = £41 per month.
I have liked Telewest customer service in the past, but you can't speak to anyone now. Having looked at these prices, Cable seems quite expensive in comparison. I am surprised.
I first saw this on the Which? web-site.
This link gives you all the information.

Just phoned sky to give notice to cancel. I had a good talk to the girl at sky.
I am of the impression that you will need work at it to get your packages cheaper. It may be the case that you have to reactivate and cancel as and when depending of about holidays and times you may not use sky. This at the moment is the only way to play the system to get your packages cheaper.
I have found in the past that you always get some days free upto a week after you have given your months notice so you can save money this way.
I have just got all 3 sports and some mixes for £28 from £37.
There has been a big meeting at sky recently about just paying for sport and nothing else. ( Like Virgin offer)this will be comming in very shortly.
As I say this will have to be worked at to save money on your sky account.The measure of love is love without measure0
