I rang Virgin the day they took the Sky channels off. Was originally paying £50 p/m for:
4mb broadband
M TV
Talk Eves & Weekends phone package
All I really wanted was sports and movies which would cost an extra £24 p/m but after holding for 24mins for the cancellation dept i sniffled a bit about how i was already paying for what i didn't really want (i don't download much & I have a mobile with plenty of free mins) and now how can i live without the footy results on SP News????
I now pay £52.50 p/m for:
2mb broadband inc Pc Guard Complete
XL TV (so can watch all the TV on demand)
Talk weekends
Sky Sports and Movies
I think i got a good deal considering this should cost around £70 a month. It is for life also and i'm not tied to a contract.
The same TV package alone with Sky would cost £43.50 p/m but it will cost me £150 to install a BT line in the first place!0 -
I phoned on Saturday morning and without mentioning the missing Sky channels I got :
XL Broadband
XL TV
Sky Sports
for £37/month. I use voip.co.uk for home phone.

Telephone cost evenings and weekends £5.50
Basic TV (no Sky) £5.50
Total = £46.50 per month.
I have the same package. I called up Virgin to cancel yesterday and they extended the deal to include the first 1 hour of chargeble calls free each week and a guaranteed discount of 25% off BT rates for all calls for the reduced price of £26.95 a month. With no contract I can still cancel with 1 months notice.0 -
