Just called Sky to ask if they could offer me any deals to keep me as a customer. Was told no deals at this time of year, so I said I would sooner have freeview (been offered it as a xmas prezzy) than keep paying for something I rarely watch.

They put me through to the cancellation dept, and he asked if there was anything I could think of to keep me from cancelling. I told him I was interested in Sky+ as I don't have a dvd recorder, and it would be good to record shows I miss..... but A) I don't want to have multi-room, and B) I refuse to pay £199 + £60 for installation.

I asked why I couldn't have the offer for new customers, (now £89.99 on Sky website) he said he could do let me have the sky+ box and installation without the multi-room add on for £99. So I now get sky+ for basically nothing extra for me each month :) ( my kids will be pleased )

Found this a great offer for me personally. So may be worth a try for those who like me, don't want multi-room, but don't also want to pay the whopping £199 + £60 for sky+ without multi-room.

  • Hi,

I'm trying to get a package for my son who does not have cable access. My package (using hints seen here!) is digital t.v. broadband computer and free phone calls after 6pm and weekends for £32.

    Advice or information please

    Christine.
  • has anyone got any geographical numbers for sky please?

as a longstanding sky customer, do you think there is any chance of getting a sky+ box and subscription for no extra cost than what i currently pay (£36/month for the sports package)???
  • I'm currently paying $21 p/m and am on the family package with Sky. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what channels i would have if i were to get the freeview boxes. I'm having trouble trying to convince the wife to give up Sky.

Is there more than 1 type of freeview?

Are there different types of freeview packages?

Help me keep her off my back!!!!!!!

    Thanks.
  • I have Sky+, and added multiroom in May 2005. I pay £52 for the full package, including £10/m for the extra Sky + box.

Just called asking about "cancellation" and gave them a story about being laid off for 6 months. I was hoping that they'd offer a deal, but got nothing! Was told I could drop to the £15/m package, pay £10/m for the extra box, and £10/m for the + features. Big deal!
Said I'd get back to them later.

    Any tips???!
  • I have been an NTL customer since the road excavations years ago! Making minor changes to my package along the way but having watched Make me Rich decided to make a plea for a better deal. I had the basic analogue TV package, talk 24 unlimited (all land line calls except 0845 and mobiles included) and 1mb broadband which cost approximately £50 per month. I have arranged (for tomorrow) digital TV, 1mb broadband and all local telephone calls after 6pm and weekends for £30 (albeit that they said the offer was only for new customers), free family pack for one month and half price family pack for 6 months. I asked very nicely, was transferred to their customer relations when I said that I felt penalised for being a long standing customer and basically asked what the best deal was that they could offer.

Very happy, as will be my grandchildren when they realise what will be available for Christmas.
  • just used 0800 7316965 option 2 for sky and got through with no probs. just taken up the 3 month sky world for £31.75 a month. will wait and see what i can get when that runs out. :)

You are still in contract with them, so they don't care as they know you won't be able to cancel with them.

I've had Sky (+multi) for 16 months now, but had a new multiroom only 3 months ago (upgraded to sky+ box). Now i doubt sky can do anything, correct?

I packed up Sky several years ago, but still have the old card, box and dish. Since Sky re-vamped earlier this year, see no need to go back. All the films you want on Men and Motors and ITV3 and 4, plus the usual terrestial stuff.
