Hi
after reading right the way through this thread I plucked up the courage to ring Virgin Media (prev telewest) about my package.
After three phone calls, the last one for 46 mins on hold, they agreed to change my package from -
2mb broadband, XL TV, evening and w/end calls and line rental 55.00 pounds
to same as the above with unlimited calls for 34.95 a month.
Wayhay - a success!!!!!!:j :j :j
thanks to everyone for your posts which helped me do this!!!Sealed Pot no 20110 -

That said, why would they bother if they didn't tell anyoe and get the credit?
Unless what we're seeing are early adopters getting it before the announcement?0 -
Just re-checked and its still working 26 hours after my package was lowered from the full monty to the £18 mix.0

I pay £25 a month for 8 meg.
I'm not a techie - so I've no idea how to check the actual speed I get.....
It seems okay - just curious if 2 meg would result in a massive slow down....

I was told I could upgrade to 8 meg but I know I won't acheive that speed because of the distance I am away from the exchange that provides the line and I KNOW I am at the furthest reach of this. Dude - I think on the Techies thread there is a link for you to be able to check your speed.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Try this link http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php put your phone number in and your postcode it will give you loads of info then, as how fast your likely to receive, what exchange your on, how far away from the exchange you are, and what is available at your exchange LLU etc.0 -

I currently have:
2MB broadband (£9.99 special deal)
Talk Unlimited phone (£25)
I phoned yesterday and was offered:
2MB broadband
Talk Unlimited Phone
XL TV Package
V+ Box
for £54.99
I talked it over with my husband and phoned back today to take up the offer. The woman I spoke to immediately said she could better the offer and reduced it to £44.95 confirming also that it is a life deal so I will not have to worry about phoning back in a couple of months to renegotiate. I am a very happy bunny!0
