OK I got sorted.
Waited almost 25 mins on hold.
the guy who'd cut me off had sorted out a deal but needed confirmation so the lady I spoke to third time sorted it out.
Moved from
XL tv/4mb BB/Basic Phone at £56.50
to
XL tv/4mb BB/Talk unlimited phone/extra set top box no install charge at £51.45
Also she took down a complaint about the unhelpful 1st lady I spoke to and was generally very helpful.
So thanks for advising me to call again:: No Unauthorised Links in Signatures please - FM ::0 -
Hi all,
Didn't see this already mentioned on here, so thought I'd post it.
I'm not in a good Freeview area, so I have been considering going with the Freesatfromsky option for £150. However, that's still a bit steep for me, so I have been hanging on to see if there were any offers around with Sky after Xmas. I'm only after the basic free stuff really, not bothered about the premium channels.
Anyway, today I spotted a thread on a DigitalSpy forum about an offer which effectively gives you Sky installation plus 2 Sky mix channels for 12 months for £120.

I've rung FreesatfromSky & confirmed the offer is still on & am now seriously considering it.
The offer isn't shown on any of their websites & I've not seen it in any paper ads.0 -
just tried to order Sky but unable to get it installed so had to cancel my order. All weekends are fully booked untill 21 May which is when there diary runs out.0

I have just cancelled my subscription to sky after 6 months half price on the full package,
And boy was i given the hard sell to downgrade.
If i had a pound for everytime she said "But you are going to lose out on sooooo much" i could have paid for 2 more years subscription LOL.
Even tried to sell me broadband and sky talk but the best price she could come up with would have made me £8 pound a month worse off than what i am getting at the moment.
With all of the competition around at the moment, sky really needs to take a serious look at its pricing structure.
And thank god for saynoto0870 of the phone call would have cost a small fortune.
It did seem like i was being kept on the line for as long as possible to get every last penny they could get out of me, unbeknown to them they were paying for keeping me waiting hehehe

I rang cancellations today and was offered nothing whatsoever. Currently on Sky+ all channels, sports and movies £43.50 pm. Is this the norm or has anyone got a better deal?
Out of curiosity is there any offers for changing to a Sky+HD package?0 -
After going through Customer Services, sales and somehow installations, I went through the proper route for deals and that is cancellations/turnarounds I had to do some pretty intense listening and had to talking about the benefits of Sky against Virgin/NTL, talk talk, orange. (I was after a good deal on Sky +) in the end I said that I will have to reduce my package down to the basic, and review my options, but indicated that I would probably go with Virgin/NTL as they will offer better deals on the phone. I was then offered a new Sky box with free fitting for £49. So I said thank you and they are coming on Tuesday to fit it!0

Hi
Im with NTL, and was on:
2mb bb
evenings and weekends local talk
L tv.
All for £34.00 p/m
After two hours on the phone, by ringing 150, then change my package option, I explained to them about the deals from sky and the virgin bundles, I was given 5.75 discount. I was then put through to retentions.
I will now get
2mb bb
L phone (national evenings and weekends)
XL tv
V+
Keeping current cable box in another room.
Now for £34.75!!
Hard work but worth it!0 -
I used this great site and thread to get a great deal on Sky for about a year.
Then my DVD blew up - the Panny I bought has Freeview.
So I decided to ditch Sky.
Telewest - I've had Broadband with them from the word go - currently paying £25 a month.
Problem - too expensive.
But - I love the speed and reliability so I want to stay.
Now I do not want any TV packages from Telewest - what should be my bottom line in trying to get a purely Broadband discount.
Will I see a noticeable change if I go from 8 meg to 2 meg.
Any help or tales of success would be most welcome,
His Dudeness0 -
