    Hi Guys
Been lurking for ages - now I really must get my finger out. Have SKY+ plus 2 other boxes, pay £60 odd a month. Do any of the other providers do anything similar to sky+? Or should I just try and get monthy premium reduced.
    Thanks

Armed with the article about getting a reduction on sky, I just rung them to cancel my £43 a month package because it was too expensive and they just cancelled it without offering me any kind of reduction. What did I do wrong and how do I tell my family what I've done?

If you don't really want to cancel, you can simply call them back sometime over the next 28 days and say you've changed your mind. You can always reduce your package at the same time if you want to save money.
  • I'm STILL of the opinion, that the more of you cancel Sky the more chance prices will drop, It's enlightning to see that some of you are moving to other providers, A customer lost, could be a lost customer forever, The people on here being offered cheap / free digiboxes also sky + are mostly tying yourselves to further contracts at inflated prices,The only way back to the old style deals is to vote with your feet, and they'll soon be back to the old style deals. Alan.

If you don't really want to cancel then it's worth not going in full force and saying so as they might just take you up on the offer! They might think there is nothing they can do to make you stay if you are too forceful.

It's worth saying you are unhappy with the amount you are paying compared to what you can get elsewhere for similar/same services and give actual amounts. Usually other places will have various introductory offers, so include these in the prices you quote them but you don't necessarily have to tell them this - just say i can get xyz from company abc for £xxx for a year but it costs £yyy from you.
  • Been informed that its possible to have a 3 for £30 deal and pay the price difference for an upgraded service
So in theory I could still have my basic phone, L broadband and XL tv and pay £46 instead of £56.50

Gonna try it 2moro on my day off.
    anyone else done this?

  • Have cancelled Sky last month (was under my wife's maiden name), still no offers available.
Not really interested in Sky+, so decided to sign up as new customer under my name via Quidco for a £55 cashback (already tracked). Also entitle to £10 credit from Sky.
Getting new equipment installed in 2 weeks.
  • After several people told me I could change my existing deal with Virgin.
from £56.50 to £46 by getting the 3 for £30 phone/net/tv and paying the price difference on tv and broadband.

Was told since I already HAVE the basic phone/4mb broadband/xl tv and I'm not upgrading anything, as an existing customer I cannot have the 3 for £30 deal and pay the difference.
the only think I could do is upgrade my phone to talk unlimited making my bill £60, and keeping my existing services.

    anyone gimme any help?

tell them that as you have heard other people paying a lot less than you for the same people who are not new customers if they cant reduce the package price then you will go to sky because with sky you can get all 3 for 26 and upgrade from there and although i dont know what they are you would have to look on the website deals with bt call there bluff threaten to cancel i did this for my friend on monday and got £20 credit every month on her bill for 12 months she gets tv + movies and sport broadband and phone now for 33 a month

be nice but threaten to leave get on the phone and ask for disconnections

    good luck

if you fail try and try again depends who you get on the other end

Do your research first with Sky. Find out how much the services you want are with them. Then ring 0800 0520184 and be polite but firm and ask if they can match or better the sky price.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help! I'm about to move into a new flat, and i want Sky+, and would also consider getting broadband and telephone through Sky. What kind of deal should I be looking for from them? I've never been a subscriber before.

    Thanks!
