just read this online
sky is hoping to remove its three free channels on freeview amd instead transmit four subscription channels.
Although you will need yet another new box, hope this never happens though.

Right..
been paying £66.50 for broadband L, TV Xl and V+ box plus basic phone.
Half an hour on the phone to a very nice brummy lass and:
Broadband M, TV XL, V+ box and phone XL... for £44 a month for life.
Reckon I've done alright out of that. Other option was phone L for £40 for 6 months.

They have given me a cancellation date, are they likely to phone back and discuss or not. whats bets way forward?
I don't think you will get a reduction in subs that they used to do. What were you after? their deal on broadband, phone and tv is very competitive if you can get it and you will save money on your broadband. You can use this as a bargaining tool to get a cheap new sky + box, but you would have you pay £10 or subscribe to the premium channels (unless the rumours are true and they are scrapping the sky + subscription).0 -

I had the three months half price etc but then wanted to get the sky plus installed free on a 12 month recommitment deal. They offered at £79 which i said no as he had also told me it was only £30 b4 Xmas but they were refurb boxes or lower HD memory.
So i gave notice to a guy from scotland who quite amusingly scraped the barrel for reasons to stay such as the classic " My wife said to me what can yo do with £1.30 a day...nothing...skys the best value you can get you cant moisturise for that"
I pointed out that at the end of the month although he may look younger than I "after mositurising" Lol that you can go out to eat a nice meal on £43 .
Then he started insulting me saying he did not know where i was eating out for that but my standards wereent high! Lol
Cheeky git, i did`nt have the patience to say i could actually eat out twice with wifey for that.
I asked him if he was trying so hard to keep me on as it might reflect on him and his targets...
he said Yes , and so I promptly gave him my final answer...Bye Sky!
I have been waiting for the hopeful call back and no joy until 5 days to go to termination. They offered me sky plus for £49 so I`m going to take it. I tried to get the to reduce my montly fee to cover the cost of install i.e. £49
No joy there. let her sweat a bit told her to call me back later...but will take it.
So they do call you back it seems incancel period.
Also send them an email on cust sercv link on sky website with viewcard number it seems to get passed onto the retentions.

I need some help. I was offered all this by Virgin Media:
TV XL
V+ box
Broadband M
Sky movies and Sky sports
for £58,50 if I was to pay direct debit otherwise its £5 more.
Sky has all the above for £53 plus £99 installation fee.
What do you think? I am considering the Virgin deal as the broadband is not wireless. Any sugestions?
Will I be able to get the Sky package any better if I phone them? I called Virgin 3 times and their offer is the best I can get.0 -

The broadband on sky doesn't have to wireless! sky provide you with a router that can be connected by a cable, or wireless, you can turn the wireless off if it isn't required. Incidentally there is nothing wrong with a wireless connection providing you set up the security correctly. You should be able to get Sky + down to £45 if you get through to the right department, you could still try cancellations/turnarounds even if your not with sky, they can only say no.0 -
