hi,
im with ntl, and had 2mb bb,family package and phone all for £40 pm, minus a rolling £8.50 credit for having all 3 sevices with them.
just got off the phone with them after saying i was thinking of cancelling as there were other products out there cheaper.
i was offered 4 mb bb at half price. also line rental and family pack half price for 12 months and also get to keep the £8.50 credit every month, so for about a tenner more a month i get a far better package.
so thanks to everyone on here for giving me the courage to ring an ask in the first place. yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee0 -

Just phoned saying that I was going to cancel ,( my digibox is faulty and didn't like the idea of paying £65.00) offered a free service visit or a sky+ box installed for £49.00......took the sky+ ...being installed next week.
It pays to be polite.0 -
I've just phoned sky to reduce my package from sky world (everything) to the entertainment pack and retain the sky+ functionality at at total cost of £31 per month. I never mentioned about wanting to cancel and got offered the complete package for £30 for 3 months. So there are deals to be had... I'll be phoning back again on the 9th April!!
Hope this helps

Rang Telewest about getting a better deal, and they are going to ring me back tomorrow. Out of contract tie-in time shortly. Mentioned that Talk Talk do a good deal, and that I could change to BT as the wiring is all there. Any clues on what I might be offered? We have the digital TV with Supreme package, line rental and evenings and weekends as an add-on, and then broadband.
Costs about £47.00 quid a month, so what would be a good deal?:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -

Not sure if this is a good deal after reading that some are being offered more for less money on this forum, but we were paying £48 a month for free local evening and weekend calls, 2MB Broadband and Family Pack. After saying we had seen better offers, i.e Talk, Talk and Sky package with free 2MB broadband they offered to reduce the price to £33.74 per month and include Talk Unlimited. This is for 12 months (told it's normally only 6) and when we said we might as well still leave as the price would increase in a years time, they said they will phone us and probably be able to offer us a better deal at that time. Have seen that someone else has been offered Talk Unlimited, 4MB broadband, Family Pack, Movies and Sports for £39! I can feel another phone call coming on :rotfl:0 -
Does anyone have the number for NTL please, I would appreciate a PM if someone has it.
I appreciate that is probably on this thread somewhere but I've already gone back several pages with no luck.
thanks.0 -
I ordered Sky plus for £159 a few days ago, as an existing customer. Since then my mate rang up and got it for £49 and I've checked this board to find that others have been offered it for £49, which peeved me off slightly.
So yesterday I phoned up sky and asked to cancel the installation as my mate was saving £110 on his sky plus upgrade. I was hoping that they would offer me the same deal, but after putting me on hold for a while she came back and said 'OK, I'll cancel that for you now'.
I think that I would rather cancel sky plus than pay £110 more than my mate! Seems like luck of the draw really as to who you speak to on the phone.
The only other thing that I thought of doing was ringing up and downgrading my package from sky world to the one with all the mixes, do you think they would offer me sky plus for £49 if I did that?
Thanks0 -
I would ring back and see how you get on talking to another customer services rep. If they have cancelled you it will be a month before it goes off anyway and you can phone up even on the last day to stop it from going through. I would not pay full price when they are giving people deals, if they didnt give me my deals each time I would just use the free channels till they did.
I dont have sky+ I get usually get half price for so many months each time, although I'm thinking they might not be so generous everytime but its worth trying.
One of my daughters rang after christmas as she has a problem requiring an engineer, reception is so bad its unwatcable she explained she wasnt paying for something she couldnt watch. She was offered cancellation only on the first call or she had to pay I think is it £60 for engineer call out. She said she would swap to NTL and cancel once that was organized, they said fine (nasty rude woman). She then phoned back and the lady appologized and said she should not have just been offered to cancel or pay for engineer and offered her the sky+ £49 deal which shes happy with.Thanx

I got the half price offer for 6 months - so I'm currently paying £21.75 per month on SKy. This runs out in February, do you think it would be worth phoning them again and saying I can't afford for my monthly payments to go up to £43.50 again?Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0
