i was on the 3 for £30 package-signed up 2 years ago-since then i have seen my 14.99 broadband go up to 17.99,basic tv package go up 0.50 and line rental 1.00,this months bill they have said they will now charge £1 for itemised billing....ok i rang customer services, said the broadband at 17.99 for 2meg was pretty non competitive,he said blah blah but with 8megs u get restricted downloads and can only use it a few hours a day-a load of bull i know but i carried on listening....anyways without me having to argue he just said ok what i can do for u is put you back on the 3 for £30 deal...couldnt really argue with that so im basically a new customer again but without the agg of cancelling and signing up again.....so ring telewest and ask them to put u back on that package if u have seen the price rises i have.
hope this helps anyone:beer:0 -
Sky phoned me yesterday and offered 10% of the £18 package and said there was'nt any other offers. My hubby said to accept so I accepted because the last time we went to the cinema it cost us £15. At least if we want a box office movie it will only cost us £3.75 each time rather than £15.0

Just wondering if anyone out there has ever taken out any kind of cover for their Sky Box. Last year my husband took out some kind of cover, we havent needed to use it and they have just taken automatically by direct debit £78 for cover for the next year. We havent had any correspondence etc. Just wondered what everyone else seems to do. I seem to recall reading somewhere that if your box needs attention with the 'right' communication Sky sometimes send someone out foc - ish
Any thoughts on this one please?? Many Thanks0 -
thanks for the advice - I'll give it a try
cheers,

Fairly new to this so be gentle with me- also didn't have time to read all the previous stuff so hope am not repeating.
Tried freeview but living out in the sticks had a weak signal and was told £200 for a wideband aerial. Then heard of Freesat from Sky.
Option 1
£150 installed and no monthly fee thereafter
Option 2
I noticed the previous occupier left his dish on the wall and i had brought my old Sky box from my old house-( I had paid for installation a long time previously and stayed with them for 12 months and therefore I now owned the box.)
I took a chance, put the two together, ordered the £20 viewing card and now get a brill picture.
My sister also went from Sky to Freesat from sky- she was paying £20 or so a month now she pays nowt and is very pleased with the picture and channels available.
Two downsides:
you get lots of mail from Sky "offering" an upgrade (+ monthl;y fee)
The feed from ITV to Freesat is for the central area and I can't get another regions local programmes- unless anyone knows differently (please).
Hope this helps someone else (I wasted £25 on a set top box)0 -

Seems a bit steep to me. A quick check on ebay shows new digi boxes for £80, and second hand at around £25 +/-. It does also seem that several people who have experienced technical difficulties are offered an FOC callout by SKY anyway, if they threaten to cancel their subs.
At the end of the day its a personal choice really, based on your attitude to risk...0 -

You can add all the different ITV regions by following the instructions on this link.

I added them, and if I can anyone can................Friends of mine moved from South Wales to London and still watch HTV up there.
All the BBC regions are already on there0 -
coming up to the end of my 5 months 1/2 price deal. Phoned them threatening to cancel, first they offered to downgrade my package which I refused. Then offered 10% off which I also refused.
So proceeded to cancel. Will be watching Premiership and Champions League on BBC/ITV highlights instead.0 -
phoned last week about cancelling and sad although my package is only £15 a month, i have freeview and get sky sports news free on free view but have to pay on sky.they said if you pay a one off £10 payment to freesat you convert your existing skybox to free view but get more free channels and you dont have to buy a sep freeview box.they also said that if i didnt cancel they wont change all my equipment(new dish, box and cable)as a goodwill gesture for nothing(usually about £100)cos i said my sky reception was rubbish and kept freezing up and i could still cancel the day after the instillation and not owe them, thus gaining a free thomson box(better than pace) and all new dish and wiring and done in the same week.programme guide, etc is really quick now.phoned last night and got father in law same deal but no money off.hope this helps someone and used the 0800 number as well!!People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with
LOVE ME, LOVE MY NEWFOUNDLAND.:A0
