Finally got round the issue of there being no record of me on their system but have been told that to avoid the £10 sky+ subscription I have to subscribe to 2 premium channels....

    Anybody else had this problem?

Please can somebody clarify that it is only one that is required. What did it say on the card that came in the post?

    Thanks

Hi sc52. Subscribing to 2 premium channels gets you Sky+ for free. The premium channels are Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Movies 1, Sky Movies 2.
So if you take all the sports channels, this counts as 2 premiums, as does taking all the movie channels. Alternatively you can take 1 sports and 1 movies.

Hi Wooky, you can downgrade at any time after 30 days, though obviously it may be better to let the 5 months deal run its course. The 30 days rule is standard to any Sky subscription contract, part 2(b):

"Unless we agree otherwise, you must remain with and pay for the Service that you choose for at least one month"

I don't have a link for the contract, but there should be a link to one on the offer webpage you listed.

This has now come to an end.....is there a possibility that I can get some more offers from sky or is that it? I did try ringing and they said i have to wait 6 months! is this right?

I am currently on a 4 mix package for £18 per month.I would'nt mind upgrading to get the sports but do not want to pay £36/37 per month.Any tricks to get price down a little?..........Neil
  • Hi all, i'm now back with sky for at least 6 months. This is due to the half price offer i recieved. Took sky sports and ended up paying 18.50 per month.

Right on time for the Ryder Cup.
  • I got a card through the post offering 3months half price upgrade to sky movies and sky sports (I currently have the family £21 package).

It says on the card I would pay £32.25 for 3 months for the full sky world (so half price of the increase. Sky world normally costs £43.50)

Well thought I'd go for it, what with the Ryder cup coming on.

I have now got the full package for £21.75/month for 3 months.!:T

When talking on the phone, the lady just mentioned that half price would make it £21.75 (so basically half price of the total price and not just of the increase!) No mention at all of the £32.25 price, and I checked with her about 5 times the price I would be paying!

So I now have the full package for 3 months, for just 75p more than I was paying previously.

The code to quote is 'Disney Sky World', the offer ends 31st October, and in the small print this is for customers who currently have the Sky Entertainment Pack (£21/month).
The only t&c I can see is that if you cancel in the first month you end up paying the full price for that one month (ie. £43)
Otherwise you can just cancel it after the 3 months is over.
  • Dont know if its already been mentioned on here, but Telewest now offer a FREE digital TV, if you take their phone service. If you already have their phone, then theres a one of fee of £25. The best thing about this, you still get sky one.
I downgraded today, from the supreme TV, they never mentioned the one off fee, so will have to wait till my next bill see if ive been charged.
