Looking for a cheap laptop for browsing, blogging and tweeting. Nothing fancy required, just something fairly quick. Looking at this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOSHIBA-C660D-1CV-500GB-3GB-15-6-INCH-LAPTOP-BLACK-/350557340125#ht_2566wt_1139
from the Argos Ebay Outlet. I would like to know if anyone has had a computer from here and was it OK? I'm a bit worried about it being 'refurbished' too, although 12mth warranty sounds good.
Any help much appreciated.0 -

It's gone. Next time, buy first and worry later.
They have a seven day 'no quibble' return policy. So if you don't like it, send it back for a full refund.
Many items will arrive 'as new'. But if something arrives and you are not happy, return it.0 -

Just ordered this. http://m.tesco.com/mt/www.tesco.com/direct/dell-inspiron-n5050-laptop-intel-core-i5-4gb-500gb-156-display-black/215-1022.prd?skuId=215-1022&pageLevel=&sc_cmp=pcp_GSF__215-1022
Do you think it's worth it? Still have the option to return it. .. Got ten pounds off with a voucher. Thanks for your thoughts.0 -
Seems reasonable to me, a second gen i5 under £400. Some people claim Dells consumer models aren't quite as reliable as their business models, but better a Dell than some other makes in that price bracket IMOJust ordered this. http://m.tesco.com/mt/www.tesco.com/direct/dell-inspiron-n5050-laptop-intel-core-i5-4gb-500gb-156-display-black/215-1022.prd?skuId=215-1022&pageLevel=&sc_cmp=pcp_GSF__215-1022

I don't know. What do you use this for? Dell is good for warranty purposes, will go with them anyday just for that reason. You could wait a bit cos the new 3rd gen intel processors are here and lappies are already shipping out. Which means a price drop on the current range of 2nd gen Core i processors.
Look for at least 8gb ram, as 4 just doesn't cut it any more. 4gb DDR3 1066MHZ Ram costs just £17, so if you have a slot for upgrading, then factor that in as well. Nearly £400 for this? I don't know.Living off £450 per month is easy...! If you aren't single! :j0 -
