I would like to know if anyone has had a computer from here and was it OK?

Bought a netbook from them over two years ago. Haven't had any problems and the item was as good as new. In the same period the 'other half' has had a new laptop from Dell with many issues and now on last legs. Am considering the same outlet for replacement.

Look for at least 8gb ram, as 4 just doesn't cut it any more. 4gb DDR3 1066MHZ Ram costs just £17...

Is this correct please? If I bought a i5 laptop with 6GB (no possibility of expansion) would it be underpowered please?

I look forward to your reply and thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    All the best,

    Thanks for the help.

After much toing and froing between a Toshiba or an Acer I finally bought this Toshiba through Quidco with a £10 off code so the total price with delivery was £338.40. I will expand the RAM to 8 GB as soon as it arrives.

As usual great help came from the Techie Board, much appreciated.

    Thanks and all the best,

Just see how you get on with it first, 4gb RAM should comfortably handle any day to day usage. I know they say you can never have too much RAM but pointless spending money if you don't need to (that is the point of MSE after all ;) )

    You are so right JDP!

Actually I had posted a thread question up earlier in the day and another helpful person, like yourself, gave quite a thorough answer to me and I've just replied to him saying that I'd try it with the 4GB first based on his response. You have now concurred with that so I'll try it and see. I won't be gaming on it so I might be ok.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Take care,
