I've found the same laptop roughly (ah530) again on dabs outlet but with a different processor, ebay item number 320804735061, sorry cant post links.
How would this compare to the one that got away a few days ago, i'm needing a new laptop for my girlfriend as her laptop screen broke.
Will be used mainly for word processing and other UNI stuff and the occasional bit of audio work but we have separate sound card etc for this. I'm thinking this looks ok/pretty good for the price but any help is great.
    Thanks everyone.

    Fujitsu AH530 £279.96.

Obviously not as well specified as the model that was £50 more, but seems a good, basic laptop with good connectivity.

... and offering 25% off all laptops. We looked at an HP Pavilion 17" laptop for £404, so £353 with discount for example.
    25% off £404 should be £303 not £353. Didn't see anything interesting online but doesn't mean there won't be a bargain in-store.

Having read through this thread, I've got a headache now! I'm trying to find a laptop for my daughter for Christmas as she is now in secondary school and homework all seems to be online. She will mostly be using the internet, Word etc but will probably want to put her photos on it and watch iplayer etc. Would the Fujitsu AH530 mentioned above be a good option?

More than enough for what you need, Office isn't included though.

Actually it is, if only the Starter version.

In addition, there is Office Web Apps.

If a full suite is needed, it is available via student channels for less than £40.

You could try this http://www.kingsoftstore.com/kingsoft-office-freeware.html. Not used it myself yet but it is based on office 2003.

Another Fujitsu AH531 variant (where have all these come from?). 4GB memory, 500GB disk and B950 processor. I don't know much about this processor but its on a par with an i3-330M. £310 at AriaPC (don't know about P&P).

You posted this machine in #2093. Wasn't it cheaper there?
