You posted this machine in #2093. Wasn't it cheaper there?

Yes, these Fujitsu AH531s are starting to confuse! 1st there was the Dabs outlet i3-2310M for £330. mrsfrench then spotted the B950 for "under £300". The Aria one is about £310 which is still good value I think. (not to be confused with the lower spec AH530s!)

I wonder where all these AH531s and AH530s have come from? Perhaps Fujitsu offloading old stock?

EDIT. all the dabs AH531s are out of stock

Found this AH531 on ebuyer, quickcode 288576
Obviously not in the grand scheme of sub-£350 but 400ish. looks good to me, i5 processor and a nice 7hrs of battery life, means she could use it for a while at uni if not near a power socket.
is this a good deal at this price?
    Thanks again

I am looking at 2 dell Inspiron 15r's just now, both have 500gb hard drives, 4gb memory and a coloured lid upgrade so only difference is the processor:

    i3-2330 2.20ghz for £359.97
    i5-2430 2.40ghz for £393.65

Any opinions or alternatives welcome, the prices are by using codes advertised by my work for today only.

Re. the dells looks like a min. saving of £70 so, obviously, a good deal. If you like Dells.

I've only ever had Acer so have no Dell experience, is there something I should know about Dell?

I've only got a limited (and mixed) experience with Dells. Sorry, others may help.

    Hi,
Looking for a cheap laptop for my Mum, mainly to use internet/email and listen to music/youtube type things. Can anyone recommend any, or give me idea of the sort of spec I should be looking for?
    Thanks!

Ordered the Inspiron 15r i5-2430 2.40GHz for £374.02 which included a total discount of £104.98, seems like a decent price and I'm sure it will be well received at xmas.

Best budget laptop around at the moment is this Fujitsu for £310
    http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/?productId=46833

However, this is probably over the top for what your mum wants. You've missed the cheap Fujitsus on ebay. Does she definately need a laptop? Would be able to get a netbook much cheaper but somebody else may be able to recommend one.
