Hi there.
I'm a bit useless when it comes to Laptops, so go easy.
I'm looking a laptop which I can use to watch videos and browse the internet with ease. I'm also looking to play Football Manager 2012 in a high speed. My budget is £300, maybe £350 at a push. Would this amount of money get me what I need? I have listed the recommended spec for the stated game above.
OS – Windows XP/Vista/W7
Processor – XP : 1.4GHz or Faster; Vista/W7 : 2.0GHz or Faster
Supported Processors: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core, AMD Athlon
Memory – XP : 512MB RAM; Vista/W7 : 1.0GB RAM
Hard Drive Space – 2GB
DVD-Drive – 4x Speed
Video Card – 128MB.
Supported Chipsets – Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 or greater; Intel 82915G/82910GL or greater.
Earlier cards may only display 2D Match Viewer Mode and are not supported. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported.
Sound Card – DirectX 9.0c compatible
My Acer Aspire is finally beginning to crack up and I don't have the energy to re-format it again. Got ripped off at John Lewis 2 years ago by paying £300 for it!
So any ideas will be appreciated. Cheers!0 -

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too expensive. Should be £300 or less. Fine for online games.0 -
Ive noticed amazon is very expensive compared with other sites. Zavi have that model for £349, Saveonlaptops have it for £329.
Can I get some advice re warranties please. I am finding decent priced lap tops but then the warranties knock the price up by 50% in many cases. Are warranties worth paying out for please?0 -

Not for 50% more. A Toshiba 3 year extended warranty costs around £75. You can find an ACER warranty on eBay for £30. Also, HP Care packs can be found in the same way.0 -
Can you help me decide please - between this

and

I dont do gaming or dowloading of films - basically I want a laptop that is reliable, easy to use - Id like to net work to my desktop - and fast for (silver)surfing/word processing and my hobbies. However, for £25 or £50 more I may as well get a higher spec model for the speed?0
