Hi there - am looking for 2 laptops (1 for me and 1 for the folks)
For me - I generally use it for Microsoft Office, watching films (which I could always plug into the TV via HDMI) and surfing the net. I wouldn't mind playing games on it - like Football Manager.
For them - they use it for internet, bit of MO, watching iPlayer and using Skype (so would need a decent webcam/mic combo)
Budget is £500 for each - but happy to hear thoughts on what's out there.
USB 3.0 would be useful for both, especially for backing up.2021

It's the new Intel i processors nicknamed Sandybridge. They are replacing the first Generation of I processors.0 -

I was looking for an Intel i3 processor as I heard for the budget they are one of the best processors to have.
Anyways I had my eyes on the Lenovo B570 15.6 inch Notebook on Amazon
This was priced at £399.98 a few days ago. And it was just the price I was not keen on, checked last night and was amazed to see it had gone down to £378.99:eek:!! I purchased it right away, now I can not wait for it to be delivered:j. Yo ucan also purchase the 3GB Ram version for £374.99.

No problem. Still a good price at what you got it at.0 -
The Fujitsu and Lenovo above for £350 with the spec -> i3-2310M 4GB 500GB, are both good value BUT really for any laptop you should be looking for an extended warranty.
Some people will say that even if a laptop fails beyond the "standard" 1 year you can still get it fixed, but I'd still prefer to get some extra cover.
With that in mind the Dabs 3 year warranty extension (Lenovo) for £59 looks good.0 -
