Please ignore the SPAM from cheapdeals above. He is spamming all over the forums, this is not for UK customers, there are much better £30 offers for UK students.

Yes it's a Celeron processor but it's dual-core & high up in the mid level rankings of CPU's on here......... http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Pentium+Dual-Core+T4200+%40+2.00GHz
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!

I am looking for a Vaio but the one in the Play link is no longer available.

How come the article is so out of date? Its not like MSE to not keep things current.

I'm looking for something good for the net and to play Football Manager 2010 - its for my other half. He loves my Vaio and has always wanted one himself
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

This is the new forum discussion to link on the back of the tip deal:

Seen a better deal? Please post below and I'll add it in. :)
I've started a fresh new discussion thread, but if you want you can read the old thread here.

Well done MSE's for starting this new thread. Closing down the old one was a good idea as it was 6 years old and the poll was out of date. One thing to note: All the laptops shown on Martin's Money Tips are no longer available so you need to get tips from this thread !.

Yes, it is a Celeron processor but is rated above mid-way in the cpu benchmark chart mentioned by bribrian above. And the price is only
    £319.00 !

The celeron is rubbish, both in performance and in power consumption

That is a sweeping statement ! Have you had a bad experience with Celerons ? This T3100 processor has been used in loads of different laptops by diferent manufacurers and all the reviews I can find, rate it OK. We are talking about a £319 Laptop here, which is fine for web browsing, emailing etc. OK. not for gaming, but then loads of us are not interested in this aspect of them.
