  • On their website HP are advertising "HP Pavilion dv7-2045ea Entertainment Notebook PC (NP823EA) SRP only£ 252inc VAT"

(New user - cannot post the link, sorry)

It's an amazing spec for the price and is seemingly too good to be true.

When I called HP to enquire about ordering one, I was told that this is a new spec due out in May and that they may not sell it direct anyway; oh, and 'no' I couldn't pre-order one either!

Presumably they are well within their right to tell me to go away?

  • Hi

My old Laptop has died (Dell Inspiron bought in 2004) and i'm on th hunt for another.

I don't really want ot spend more than £400 and have only looked at the Dell website.

The Inspiron 1545 is on at £398.99 (reduced from £562.99) until tomorrow and wondered if this was better than the one's that have been recomended?

I only us the laptop for I-tunes, internet and generally storage of photos. Not really got time to play game, and space is a key factor as i don't have room for a desk top.

Do you have any other suggestions than the above?

    Cheers

    Hi,

I've recently seen the 3GB T4200 dell 1545 on offer in pcworld and currys at 399.99 for take home, ( ohhh, 379.99 for the "black version on currys.co.uk , SKU 859916 and i've seen it at tesco stores for 369.99)

I'm assuming you know what your looking for in terms of hard drive space vs RAM etc?

Beware, these "Laptops" don't have more than 2 hours battery life...

The spec looks OK for my use on this one http://www.toshiba.co.uk/businesslaptops/range/everyday_computing/satellite_pro_l300.php

Not sure about the CPU size... is it 2Ghz?

£329 + VAT looks reasonable to me. I understand Toshibas are reliable.

    Anyone....... ?

    thats ok, good price

but i would go for one of these

ok so you take a bit of a hit on the processor(intel is preferable to amd even though the amd is clocked slightly higher) but you get improvements everywhere else for not a lot more, the second option just has a 90gb larger hard drive to the first, worth an extra tenner imho.

on an unrelated note, my <£400 decent laptop is this
