I wouldn't. Not keen on the brand nor the retailer.
Given the choice, I would take this similarly specified Toshiba if you were stuck on those specs.0 -
Hi all,
Bit of expert help required please!
My mother bless her has finally realised she needs live in the 21st century and treat herself to a PC & Internet. I proposed a laptop as opposed to a desktop as space is limited in her abode and it also needs to be mobile. Usage needs would only be for the internet so, whilst expense probably isn’t an issue, I wouldn’t want her to pay out for something she will not use etc…
If anyone can suggest a good buy for me to look at for her it would be great?
Cheers in advance0 -

This Toshiba Satellite L670D-10N for £341.48 is a nice all-rounder for general use.
Specs here (Press F5 to refresh page if necessary)
Note the larger screen for easier viewing. Which of course leads to more space for a decent keyboard.0 -

I'm not quite sure where you are going with this...
You ask for an opinion and then you suggest the lowest price DELL against other suggestions.
The lowest priced DELL is £329, so over your budget anyway. The machine to which I linked offers much more for around the same price.
Take a look at the machines in post #1042 at the £300 mark.
The are still cheaper machines if you think that she will never use a webcam.
The cheapest DELL doesn't have one.0 -
Can anyone recommend a laptop that is ideal for general surfing of the internet, facebook and e-mails. Don't really want to spend more than £400.00 and ideally the cheaper the better. Getting myself confusd with all the different types of laptops out there.
Thanks
As per my post above can anyone tell me which would be the better out of the two.

The one for £369.00
or this one

For £379.99
I'm kind of tempted to go for the Dell one but only because a friend who has an IT guy for her business told her if you buy a laptop from the likes of Currys/PC World, if something goes wrong the manufacturers don't like to get involved and so you have to go back to where you bought it from.
Obviously I don't have any experience of this having never bought a laptop before so not too sure.
Also I don't know if it makes a difference but I will be using it with mobile broadband.Did owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j
