Hi there guys, I have looked through the thread......

I hope to hear from you soon.

This is the wrong part of the board to post your letter of complaint.

Perhaps you can delete it from here and copy it over to the correct part: The Praise, Vent & Warnings Board whilst just leaving a link here.

For instance: "I'm having a problem with Currys, read about it here(link)

Don't forget the 20 Pounds Argos voucher if you spend more than a 100...........
This is excellent value for a new machine at around 160 if you can live with the 3 cell battery.

    Hi,

I am currently looking for a laptop for my son and am interested in is one.

Do you know if you can purchase something to attach that will allow him to play DVD's?

He mainly uses 'my' laptop (hence the reason for this christmas gift choice :-)) to down load music then adding it to his phone or listening to it via the laptop, facebook, surfing the net and watching DVD's.

As I see it the only reason for me not getting a note book is the latter.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Wrong section for this post, as you are not really discussing a 'powerful laptop under £350'.

Take your pick, bearing in mind that the first two in the list are read only and are slightly cheaper here.

But I think a writer will be more useful, so you are looking at around £30.

    Thank you, that's great news.

I have ordered the netbook and sorry to post again in what I now realise is the wrong place but I only have one more question and it feels silly to start a new thread for it.

I am happy to spend another £10 to get the writer but when I try and search in Amazon I'm getting millions of results and I do not really know what I am looking for. Do you think you could point me in the right direction?

Just want something to play standard movie DVD's and for him to be able to put his music on blank DVD's which is what I presume the 'writer' bit to be about.

    Thanks again.

Why are you 'searching Amazon' when you already have two links?

Fourth on the list: Samsung SE-S084D £29.99 with the free delivery option.

Thanks for that I will get one ordered.

I searched Amazon as thats where the 2nd link where you said they were cheaper took me and their was not list with that link just the 1 without the writer.

Thanks again Donnie. From Thailand to Netbooks you have been my lifeline on more than one occasion! ;)

:) Amazon was just cheaper for the read only option(in white) if you wanted to go down that route.
Definitely worth spending the extra £10 for the writer.

Have you already purchased the Netbook? Their Outlet sometimes has that model up for around £125 delivered. Not at the moment though.

If he prefers a top loader, the LiteOn eTAU108 is available at either retailer for a couple of pounds more. It's a bit chunkier than the Samsung. But I'm sure that won't be a negative factor for him.

They've just updated the Argos Outlet website. Netbooks from £150. Laptops from £250.

I will have a look, may be worth me canceling the Argos one and reordering.

    Cheers, Nikki
