Cheers, that shouldn't be a problem. I accidentally popped the tray recently and it had a cd in it that I thought I had lost a couple of years ago.
Just need to try and suss out whether the drop from 15.4" to 13 is worth the portability to her, without asking.0 -
thanks busenbast. I'll go for the lenovo, it looks pretty solid.0

The (ebay) Argos Clearance site seems to be popular and has great prices but what are people's experience of a) buying a refurbished machine and b) after sale/warranty given that there's no 'shop' to walk into and seek help?
My first time with them - arrived this morning
Delivery took 3 days (prob DHL's fault) not 1
Laptop switched on for about 2 mins then switched off & won't switch back on
No comms with argos via email & no answer on phone altho the refurb co (d & j henry) seemed helpful & they're coming to collect it tomorrow...
So another 7-10 working days added on....
And worried about the repair considering they refurbished it/okayed it originally
Will prob end up with a refund & still looking next month
Maybe I was just unlucky ??0 -
I bought the Aldi (Medion) ... see posts 1001 and 1004. So far, very happy. Not as robust as the feel of my 3 year old Dell Vostro but much lighter and the free 3 year warranty would have cost more than £100 extra with Dell (which cost nearly £500 three years ago) and I have had problems with Dell.0

If you receive a machine that conks out, don't bother to consider keeping it.
You don't want a buy a return that was faulty. An 'unwanted' return is obviously the preferred choice.
Of course sometimes you might receive a 'lemon', but that why it's good that they they have a solid warranty.
You can also buy new machines that fail, so don't be put off.0 -

Am on the look for a laptop ASAP. Budget Absolute Maximum £400, though prefarably £350. I have read through the last 40-50 posts. I generally judge laptops based on their spec. And judging by this some people have got a bargain, Toshiba (500gb, 4gb ram) for around £300 I read. Just want it for home use really, internet, word processing, few low graphic games. Can people please direct me to some decent bargains? It seems like Argos ebay site is the best place to be looking to get these, is that correct?0
