...I've just been made redundant  I'm owed 1 weeks wages, 3 weeks holiday pay and 2 weeks redundancy pay. I'll only spend my usual amount weekly, so in 6 weeks time I'll be skint.
I've just registered with our council's job site, there's quite a few jobs I can do but I haven't got a piece of paper to say so  I'm qualified for nothing ...
Troo, most Council's will say "or equivalent experience"...I don't have any bits of paper apart from 28yr old O levels, but I got my job at 43, even tho it said ECDL was a requirement. You should still apply, you never know how many other people won't bother & you may be the lucky one0 -
Kaat, thank you! Only probelm is I don't have any vinegar apart from balsamic & chip!
So its chutney tomorrow night instead.....guess I'd better check the jar situation too.....
Tonight's cookathon is roasted tomato & basil soup, and carrot & coriander soup. Both for the freezer - weekend lunches & lunch for OH when he's at home - its Aberdeen this week
Am trying to eat stuff that is in the freezer at weekends too, so we can fill it with fresh h/m stuff....so I suppose I'm gonna have to eat Jamie O's cauli canneloni sometime _pale_ and the spanish minced lamb with peanuts () that OH made & loved _pale_ .... think he can eat those all by himself
Right, my soup kitchen is calling....

......The in laws visit on Saturday and I have a feeling M in L (she who pries) will be left in the house on her own on Sat afternoon. I am not pleased about this at all but DH wants to take his dad to watch DSS play football and I'm going to the hairdressers to get my highlights retouched (or whatever they do). I made the appointment ages ago and work fulltime so need a Saturday.....
Would they be able to fit her in for a blow-wave? Then at least you know where she is......0 -
Hi all and good evening!
Redruby - the chicken went in the SC :j And it was okay - first time I have done a whole bird - worried about it all day
Anniebooklover - work was carp - okay it's just extemely busy and very stressful, but that goes with the time of year, after nine years you would think I would be used to it by now
Betheebee - DSis has a form of Lupus (so she's extra special) the type she has means she is more prone to blood clotting, so I am frustrated she has had so many A&E visits before the latest diagnosis. Also, her specialist at St Thomas' hospital in London hasn't picked up on this either. I am glad she will now get the correct care though - although worried about her undertaking the op too. And huge hugs for you and your DGD
LameWolf - I passed on your glove recommendation to DSis as she also suffers with Reynards, it was gratefully received, many thanks
Troo - so sorry to hear about the redundancy, I hope you become a famous card designer though!
wmf - stationery - it's a girl thing[STRIKE]Techie stuff is for smelly boys[/STRIKE]

I cooked a lovely stew in the slow cooker today and OH asked for seconds, it was delish (she says modestly) We bought it for Mum last year, but she was'nt too keen on it, so she gave it back to meits only a small one 1.5 ltr. But waste not want not, I can see I will be using it a lot.
She's bought herself a Baby Remoska now from Lakeland, I am waiting to see how she gets on with it

O Beth how awful, your poor DGD and her friends, hope they are alright now. These scum make me so  Last week my neighbours son (age 14) was attacked in the local park, the scum used a bicycle chain on him, luckily one of his friends rang the police on his mobile, they knew who the scum were, as they had been going round all the parks in the area and attacking other youngsters.
off for a :coffee: now

Oh troo, hope you find something soon.
beth - that's dreadful. How can anyone do that, let alone a child of 12? Hope your DGD is feeling a bit better
Sammy - good news for you and your OH; glad he's home
redruby - :rotfl: at the note in the drawer!
wmf - A friend of mine once filled the bathroom cabinet with polystyrene chips because she was fed up with her MIL poking around. I left some dodgy literature, a riding crop and a roll of clingfilm in ex-OH's wardrobe for the same reasonNever found anything touched again after that.
what is she expecting to find in your underwear draw for heaven's sake? Maybe you could get some of those springy snakes from the joke shop and booby trap it

jess - thinking of you, hope all went well today
Meanmarie - hope your DH feels better soon
Moneysaving Diva, I was having problems with the service pack too - it wiped all my display settings and I had to slave my laptop to the desktop this morning to get it switched it back on because I couldn't see what I was doing with a blank screen! Grr. Computer is only 6 weeks old!
Have a good evening all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
