Hello everyone.
No rain here yet but very cold and dark!
Good luck Jess.
I am so sorry to hear your news troo hopefully something will turn up soon. It does seem that so many people are going through difficult times at the moment. Hugs to all that need them.
Life has been eventfull here. My ds2 managed to be picked for the bmx british chamipnship which was held in Peterborough and was representing the South. All was going well in practice until he had his bike pinched, the police were informed but the bike never turned up. A kind marshall at the race lent him his bike but unfortunately ds2 didn't do too well as the bike was the wrong set up. The poor boy does seem to be going through a tough time but he is managing to smile again after the break up of his marriage and is just wanting their house to sell so he can get on with his life.
As a family we are now all in a much better place and still hurt at what could have been but know that their are so many people worse off then us.
On a brighter note we are off to Egypt in just under 3 weeks time and we are sooooo looking forward to that.
Off to see DD at the weekend and baby sit all three children so that they can go out. Will probally need all the next week to recover. GC ages are 5 months, 27 months and 5 and a half. Lovely but a handfull.
Veggies are not doing to well in the garden. Tomatoes are green but have quite a few runner beans alas the butternut squash did not do very well.
Sorry for such a long email never seem to have the time to pop on most days.
Hope everyone is having a good day. xx0 -
Afternoon all,
just skimmed through at speed - troo, sorry to hear your bad news
Fingers crossed that something else comes up for you very soon.
Spent this morning while it was beautiful & sunny painting my log cabin a lovely shade of sage green. Just got a few bits left to do, the door needs to be done in cream, and half the back wall of it (couldn't get round to that), but it's looking lovely. Then had to spend ages in the shower getting all the green splatters off me.... as I was going for lunch with a couple of work colleagues. The plan was to finish the cabin off when I got home, but it started raining while I was out, and is still going strong now, so looks like it may have to wait for a dry spell again.
Sistercas, that does make me laugh, your dripping towel still being on the line - I do that with my DD's washing sometimes - if they don't want to get it in, why should I...?!?!?
Have forgotten what else I was going to say.... More tea I think.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

hi!
new to this board, but have a question about knitted dishcloths - strange I know.
my nan knits her own, and uses them. as I am a clean freak I go through the dispoasable blue ones at a rate of knots!
my question is: has anyone used there own dish cloths? and are they safe? two questions really!!light bulb moment: 30.08.08!!0 -
Hi again
((((hugs)))) firstly to the poorlies - particularly mrs mix, meanmarie's OH, Lamewolf and OH, Candygirl's DDad, Pen-Pin, redruby and any other poorly OSers I have inadvertently forgotten.
troo sorry to hear your news but I hope something comes along quickly for you. Think of it as an (unwelcome) opportunity.
simone hi and welcome. Yes, there are certain ladies on this board who knit their own dishcloths although I'm not one of them as I can only knit triangles and haven't learned how to cast off.

DS has just dropped a bowl of vegetable soup on the living room carpet and then stared at it as if "what am I going to eat now????".  It's been that kind of day - for every good thing that has happened, at least two rubbish things have happened. However, the new me is refusing to be stressed by this and I have not raised my voice or lost my temper at all. :A I pointed him in the direction of the Vanish and a cloth.
I know, not very OS but it means that it will be clean.
DS doesn't want a baked potato with his chicken drumsticks as he can't put Thai Sweet Chilli Dip on it. He wants wedges. DD doesn't want chicken drumsticks OR a baked potato. Told you it was one of those days. Think there may be a couple of hungry young booklovers tonight.
Off to do something with the pears I chopped and poached in ginger and brown sugar at lunchtime. I feel a crumble coming on.
bye for now. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi Simone, my avatar is a hand knitted dishcloth.
To make sure it is clean , I leave it to soak for a short time in a drop of bleach diluted in water.
Back off to work soon, catch you all later.
Troo, bad news for you, looks like it could be the curtain shop
