  • Morning all, cold and dry here this morning, i dont know what was wrong with me last night, had no proper sleep only napped. DH snoring away after another 10 hr nightshift! Got curtains put up at french doors in the kitchen yesterday but one job led to another and ended up cleaning all the tiled walls, thankgoodness for Stardrops, brought them up a treat. Went to the Argos clearance bargains store and DH got a MP3 player for £4.99 (he is allowed to listen to this at work) and a cd docking station for our campervan for 0.99p, he was like a little boy with his new toys lol. Managed to stretch my bacon joint for 4 adult meals, sandwiches for DH, and made lentil and bacon soup with the remainder, my teatime meal for the rest of the week. Got 3 items ending on ebay today, watchers on them all so fingers crossed. Will do mince and dumplings for lunch with mash and mixed veg, so nice and warming. Should have a NSD as there is nothing i need.
JESS GOOD LUCK TODAY hope everything goes well for you xx
N9eav can you post how you get on with Orange about your daughters phone as my DD has not had a signal on hers for 4 months since a local fire destroyed the mast, she rang them and they said they were not liable to provide you with a signal at all times, so wouldnt even reduce her monthly bill!!
Everyone have a good day xx

((((((((((HUGS))))))))) lots of them today for all in need x

Its awful here today, we had a whole day with no rain yesterday....knew it was too good to last.....
Over to mums in a bit to take her shopping over, and do some housework for her, not that she needs too much done as she makes herself do certain things. I really dont mind doing it but as she says"If I sit in a chair all day I will get stuck and never move" I usually do the hands and knees bits, cleaning skirting boards, floors and in all the room corners, that sort of stuff.
Welcome to jess and Sarah

    Morning all,
New Nantucket patchwork bedspread and shams for the last bedroom makeover arrived y/day so I can do a colour match for the wall paint. Think I'll pick out the pale grey, there's different shades of blues in it. The carpet and sofa is navy so need a light colour for paint work. DH gets 10% off at B&Q on Wednesdays so will have to stop myself from wizzing down there and getting it today.
The bedspread is Super kingsize, so will measure dble bed and cut off the excess and sew piping around the edge. I can then use the spare material to make cushion covers and sos shaped bolsters. Lots of sewing but saved loads doing it this way.
Must tackle the ironing today, will do it when Loose women are on, love that prog.

The chilli I made is v hot so need to tame it down as it's always hotter after it's frozen.

Looking after 2 houses while friends are on hols and am able to pick all the veg from their gardens so must dodge the showers and see what's there today. Will have with YS chops for dinner.

MORWENNA, Thank goodness they have found out what is wrong with your DSis. Hope all goes well.

SAMMY, Will DH be home today?

MEANMARIE, Hope DH will soon be on the mend, although it does take some time. My DH has had it twice.

JESSBROWN, Welcome and all the best for you and Baby.

CANDY, Hugs to DD, DDad and DMum. and lots for you. You're doing all you can, but please try not to worry.

Just waiting for DH to get out the shower so I can get in. It will have wet towels on floor, water everywhere & generally look like he's had a water fight in there. Of course his dirty clothes will be right next to the basket. :D Men, don't you just love em.

Went down and checked the chooks this arv and another egg was there. I always thought they laid in the morning. Obviously not. XDIL came and got DGS at 6pm. He ate a whole punnet of strawberries today. Shame, I was looking forward to strawberries & ice-cream for dessert. Passionfruit just wasn't the same. ;) Probably do a bit of surfing tonight as having a hour nap this arv, I"m not all that tired.

Celyn Good luck with the job application.
sistercas That's excellent results that your DD got. Well done.
JackieO That sounds a wonderful group to be in.
sammy I hope DH gets out soon.

I see Andy Murray lost the tennis. :D Shame. Enjoy the rest of your day. The bathroom is free. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning Guys!

Back from the hospital and have had my treatments. Was there very early this morning and thought I would be there all day but got set up quick and they managed to get a vein first time:j :j :j :j

Its sunny here ATM but has been raining.

OH and I are trying to work out if we can afford to get aload of jobs done upstairs. I am not sure of what the costs would be but assume alot. Think I will ask in the DIY section:confused: ....but know I will have to get a builder in for a proper quote but would like some idea.

Am helping my neighbour with opening a savings account as he wanted one with a passbook as the current one was only pay 1%    ...he wants to save around £500 and think I have found one quite local to us too. That way he can walk down and pay his money in each month and get his book updated. He didnt want an online one or postal. Its really sad as he has no family and have never seen anyone visit in 6 years. He never moans though. We cook enough when having a Roast or stew to pass him a plate and in return he gives us tomatoes (I'm allergic:D ) and some other veg sometimes.

Anyway, I had better go as my tummy is rumbling (sp).

    Hugs to all.

  • Old Style has had an effect on me and I'm not entirely sure it's a good one.

The Lakeland Christmas Catalogue arrived! Of course I immediately tear open the envelope and devour the pages.

    However...

I keep thinking - isn't that a lot of money? little bear is too young to appreciate that. I am sure I can make that myself a lot more economically. Why would anyone want something like that? What a lot of fuss! So I haven't decided to buy anything at all.

Little bear will be able to appreciate Christmas a little more this year - he will be two years old on 29 December.

The catalogue did make me review my Christmas list. Normally I buy dear heart's brother in law a bottle of Jack Daniels for Christmas and the same again for his birthday on 15 January. I'd like to think it kept him going through the year, but I am under no illusions. However he is now diagnosed diabetic. Hmm. He may be willing to take the risk, but should I have it on my conscience?

    Just a quickie from work.....

WS - we've taken the opportunity to cut down our Christmas list, and we now only buy for any nephews / neices under 21, OH's parents, my 2 elder brothers (as they would not otherwise get a pressie since Mum died) and my BF & OH's BF. I have to say it makes life a lot easier & cheaper, we also have a bit of a diabetes dilemma with OH's mum so we try & buy for the garden or smellies instead.

Will try & post properly later - anyone got a good recipe for mango chutney?

    Afternoon all,

Kathy think we have now got the rain you had this morning  , its come over all dark and miserable.

Well my jam was a success, it tastes fab, and despite my mum saying that it wouldn't set, it has, or should I say it is doing :T , I made 8 jars, and all I bought was two bags of sugar for 39p each from a local cheap shop :D , so very pleased with myself. (apples from my tree, blackberrys from woods)

Also made millie cookies from the gc thread, so dd will be pleased when she gets in, she has a drink and a cookie, then gets on with homework. Yesterdays homework was about eating fruit and veg whilst its in season, and using local produce, which I thought was fab :T .

Have also tidied through, hoovered, mopped floor and emptied dw, going to sit for a while now, am shattered for some reason.

    Have good afternoons all xx
