Payless, No, as the 512M mini sd card was already in the phone, most unusual.

I dont think I will complain as I will be getting a second card from ebuyer or ebay which will have an adaptor.

Hadn't thought re unlocking, what method did you use?

This morning I received my K300i also with a new sim. Sorry to be a bit thick, why do we need a new sim, my old sim fits fine. I did not see anything about a £30 charge for a new sim. Although it did say to charge the phone and register it with orange. The paperwork that came with the phone confirms Virgin tariff.

Has anyone who received this offer changed sims and were you charged?
    Thanks for any advice.
I got a Nokia 3120 on Monday, registered the new SIM and all is fine.

Like seth, I had an old SIM card, full-size and not perforated to push out the small version. The £30 charge mentioned would have been for ordering a replacement SIM card before this offer came along. Instead of paying, seth had cut the old SIM up himself, but I hadn't got round to it yet.

There will be no charge for the SIM in this offer.

... and thank you to the people on this thread.

took me hours to work it all out ! but easy when you know how!

need to have activesync running ( guest is fine.. in fact I used my existing version loaded from an old pda, but its also on the disc / avaialble to down load from m/s )

You need to unlock for applications first ( security?) - tried via orange develops site route , but no joy, so used registry editor / info at http://www.modaco.com/INFO_Decert_SIM_Unlock_C550-t222786.html

    change values to

    HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 1 (RAPI)
    HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 40 (Cert)

    then used http://www.spv-developers.com/content/SPV-Services.zip

loaded/ ran cert.cab from phone , then ran the services program

  • Apologies if this has been posted before, I checked grabbits and mobile phones but couldn't see it.

I posted it here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=110429 but it seemed to get generally overlooked. Grrrr :):)

I also have an Orange phone on OVP tariff that I seldom use but worried that should I order this Orange will change my tariff and set up some set monthly payment I see that they say its dependant on your monthly tariff, wouldn't like to be stuck with a 12 month contract at £X per month as I already have another contract phone with 5 months to run
"the prices shown are for you and are dependent on the services that you subscribe to

    Hi Jeff
They can't alter your tariff without informing you and if it is to something that will cost you money you have the right to cancel.

However everything points to this being a standard upgrade keeping you on the same tariff. So many people have upgraded and I haven't read of anyone having problems with tariff changes. I've had my first bill since upgrading and everything is as it should be and it states on the bill it is a phone upgrade at £0.00.

If you decide to try it just confirm that it says online Upgrade charge £0.00, Phone charge £0.00 with a confirmation of those costs in the email they send before shipping and it should be fine.

I saw this all the time

    1) register your phone #
    2) type in the SMS code sent to you
    3) complete the registration by entering your password etc then bag some error?

If this is whta you see

    1) GO back to the main site orange.co.uk
    2) login using the detail you entered

I got thiis type of problem each time I registered!

    I'm on Firefox 1.0.7
    Seth.
  • Well, it took 3 days for the Orage web site to let me register, but now I have managed to order a SPV C550 upgrade to my OVP Virgin account.

Fingers crossed that this hould go through OK without any changing of Tarriff, but if there are issues, then there are 7 days to cancel the upgrade.

Looks like I will need to buy a Mini SD adapter. Is the best option to buy another card (with an adapter included) or is there a cheap way to just get an adapter?
