I tried to initiate a transfer of £1000 but when I went through to confirm it said 3 days so I cancelled.

Out of interest I then tried £250 and went through to confirm - 2 hours.

Then tried £500 - 3 days, then tried £250 again - 3 days (!?), £10 - 3 days. E.g. Like others have said in this thread by pressing back a couple of times and changing the amount I had managed to block Faster Payments of ANY amount.

A few hours later I logged back in and apparently they had been re-enabled and I was able to make 2 separate faster payments (£1000 and £500).

Very very odd, it appears you can "lock" yourself out of faster payments of any amount by playing around with the settings. This lock however may only last a matter of hours.

I have always used Halifax faster payments and had never got any problems with it before but today it doesn't seem to work. I've even tried to send £1 and it does not allow me to. Anyone got the same problem?

No luck for me this morning with any Halifax Faster Payment - tried £1,000 - nope. Tried £249 - nope. Tried £5 - nope. Oh well.

Yesterday, I tried £1,000.01 - yes! However I cancelled that transfer, then tried £2,500 - nope. Then I tried £1,000 - this time NO! Tried £250 - no.

Utter bol****s. I'm glad they're usually only my secondary account that I use purely for the free fivers.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

Try '£999' [once only] instead of exactly £1k then '£1' or repeated '£190' plus '£50'.

The '£190' figure is what I have found can be made up to fifteen or so times [certainly up to the account daily of £2500] Any larger amount [eg £200] will give problems.

Thanks, I'll definitely try this out tomorrow, and report back here :)

This may well just be a complete co-incidence, but after getting my FP requests knocked back on more than one account, I gave in and sent via the 3 day thing (so it was due to leave the acount tomorrow) and logged out. A minute later I decided I'd be quicker physically going to the bank instead, so logged back in to cancel the pending payment and then discovered I could FP again.

I tried this on another account and same thing happened. I ended up getting all my FP done after all. As I said, could be total co-incidence but maybe worth trying if you can't FP? I wondered if setting up another transfer somehow cleared the block? Could well be talking rubbish though, just a thought.
