sent through just over £500 from my halifax acc online and it went through as a FP.:T

though from past experiences, it really is hit and miss. there was a week in the middle of december where for some unknown reason, the halifax system steadfastly refused to let me send anything via FP and it took me another week via BACS to actually have my money sent out and rec'd on the other end.

strangely enough, lloydstsb does work fine for me nearly all of the time!:rotfl:

I'm closing my account. Haven't been able to send a faster payment for about 2-3 weeks now. On top of that, BACS payments don't even go out until the next day so it takes 1-2 days long than every other bank.

So long Halifax, you are shocking.

Try '£999' [once only] instead of exactly £1k then '£1' or repeated '£190' plus '£50'.

The '£190' figure is what I have found can be made up to fifteen or so times [certainly up to the account daily of £2500] Any larger amount [eg £200] will give problems.

I tried the second of those two methods this morning - the first two payments of £190 went fine, but the third failed, and from then on, I couldn't send any faster payments. Oh well!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

Halifax FP has been and still is CRAP since day one.

Yet again I`ve been trying all day without success.

I wonder if they really do change the limit constantly for "security reasons", or if that's just the line they're told to give to avoid saying "basically, it's CRAP".

I wonder if it will be more reliable with the new Halifax Internet Banking service that they're supposed to be releasing soon (which seems to look just like the Lloyds one). I'm guessing not.

I managed a FP for £1000 from one account early this morning, but it wouldn't let me do the one from the other a/c for any amount, eventually managed to get that one through at lunchtime, - have never had a problem with FPs from my Lloyds Bank a/cs.

I also noticed the new website layout is exactly the same as the Lloyds one now, hope the FP system 'bucks up' to match soon!

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Update: I went to my local branch where I got them to do the FP with no problem.
By the time I got back home the payment was already showing in the receiving account.
Seems it can be done in branch but not at home online.

Anyone interested can read about the FP saga here.

I discovered today [but should have noticed as it's always been there] that you can cancel a 'pending' payment if -like me - you accidentally submit for payment when the FP unavailable prompt appears. Remember, the balance of your account doesn't change as soon as you 'submit' unless the payment is actually sent - it stays there til midnight.
