    Hows it going Peeps?

Well, haven't had any feedback about how the buyer's survey went yesterday - but no calls (yet!) from the agent to drop the price - so fingers crossed.

Crossing fingers for everyone else on here as well.

BTW the property market seems to be picking up - more new matters starting to come in again regularly at work.
  • Update- our EA had called the couple who had offered on our house (that we rejected) to see if they had found anything else yet. They hadnt and made another offer this morning of £167,500 (last week they offered £160 and then £165). This latest offer is based on us saying we'll be out before xmas (which we can do) but also wanting all our white goods, and an 8 seater table and chairs (solid wood). So although a 2.5k increase, in real terms we're only gaining £1k or 1.5k? They'd had a surveryor or builder round with them who had reckoned the house would need around £6/7k worth of work to be done. We think this is an over estimation (as always), and I'm considering finding out what they thought needed doing and getting it down and paid for ourselves? Any thoughts or ideas for negotiating. The house is on at £179 and I want £175, though anything in the 170's I may consider...
  • EA is getting list of work buyer says needs doing, then getting their "independent" contractor to quote for the work. Hoping that its not as much as they said. Then we can see about another offer!
  • Mine has been for sale since June - Valued @ £120k, put on the market for £115k. Had one viewing but was cancelled and haven't heard a peep from estate agents, (I sent a rather to the point email to them asking why there hasn't been any viewing and was basically told to be patient in this climate.. the nerve, cost me £600 HIPP pack which needs to be paid for by Jan, they didn't tell me to hang on for a sale before purchasing, they just instructed). Finally, I have taken down for sale sign... there is no point in it being up!

We've had ours on the market for a couple of months. We've had 6 viewings, which is good in our area, but at least two have been time-wasters.

We've advertised on Gumtree and Adzooks but don't really expect too much interest from there.

Does anyone know anywhere else we could advertise for free, or very little?

I never found any of the free listing places any good, apart from Country Living and they pick what they want to put in there, (cottages and such like) and you have to be a subscriber to get it free.
Local rags sometimes do editorials if you have some thing different and this has also worked for me in the past.

Almost all my viewings have come from Rightmove (via the agents of course). I chose not to have a For Sale notice outside. Not sure if anyone can advertise on Rightmove or whether it's only for agents - but it seems a very popular website.

I'm still waiting to hear back post survey which was done on Monday - the waiting is terrible. I just want to know if the offer still stands and when everything can get moving - especially if I have to be out before Christmas as I'll need to find somewhere to rent. Feeling very stressed out at the moment:(
