Good luck with viewing - we have our first one on Sat :T0 -
Its difficult to get round a price in your head when its SOOOOOOO much lower than you paid for the property though, and I did not buy in 2007, and I spent a packet refurbing it, with my own blood, sweat and tears!Pawpurrs x0

Pawpurrs I'm with scw1, if you don't need it then let it go and move on and start living life again. Trying to sell your house puts so many other things on hold. Like you said, you could wait months for another offer and itmay be less than this one.
Queenieplum - I know exactly how you feel, we have done the same for each of our viewings - getting really fed up with the drama that has to accompany them now though- and I've only had 3! Good luck for tonight, keep us updated on how things go.0 -

i must admit that leysdown isn't that fabulous, nor is sheerness. but i think you get the not-so-good areas wherever you go
we live right out in the countryside, in eastchurch which is probably the nicest area, and we hardly ever venture into sheerness or leysdown as we don't need to. OH works in sittingbourne, and we shop at the local farm-shop & butchers mostly.
just as an aside rsootarsing... my best friend lives in faversham, and i personally wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole :rotfl: (and that's coming from someone who lives on the isle of sheppey:rotfl: )
As you say every area has its bad parts and faversham has some lovely bits and shoddy bits, I also work in sittingbourne but live in Wingham on the other side of Canterbury so want to get closer to work really.Making money online in 2009 to date earnt:

i don't blame you. canterbury to sittingbourne in rush hour can't be much fun!
wingham's a gorgeous area - i envy you!0 -

Wingham is gorgeous, We love living here although it is a little sleepy, and with my wife not driving it is a bit of a pain for her getting around with the baby.Making money online in 2009 to date earnt:

Sorry I thought you had allready offered on it, my mistake
None of your peeps increased their offers?
You're right, we did place an offer on the property, but it was declined on the basis that ours had fallen through (while the EA was eating his bacon sarnie and having a cuppa!!!).
None of the others increased their offers, 'cos they told the agent that the offer was at the top of their budget.
As for your predicament, I'm not even going to offer advice, just glad I'm not in your shoes.0 -
All advice appreciated.
Shame none of them increased, that blinking stamp duty threshold, it would be fairer if it was on a sliding scale like most tax is, and you only paid the extra on the amount over, but even so it needs the 3% tax being higher now, hardly a luxury house anymore, its not fair either that its 250k in london where it will buy you next to nothing or in Newcastle where it could buy you a lot more.Pawpurrs x0 -
Well you've already dropped quite a bit if I recall correctly. Even if you did accept to take the current offer (and therefore drop another £5k) do you actually think the house sale would go through with this current buyer ?
I sometimes look at some of our viewers and think that if we accepted an offer, I bet they try to push the boat out later, nearer exchange, and ask for more money off. All that time , the house has been off the market and potentially lost another buyer.
Only you can decide what to do.
At the moment, I'm just pleased to keep getting viewings.0
