Nearly 2 weeks on the market and not a viewing in sight.

I really thought I'd get a few in my first 2 weeks but nothing. I think the fact that the pics didn't show on RM for a week didn't help as I missed the alerts but the EA assure me that they've mailed out the brochures etc.

I spoke to a property dealer at the weekend who said that there is no where near as many people looking to buy as the EAs suggest. He said his brother works for a local building society and they're only receiving around 2 mortgage applications per week at the moment.

I've looked at the possibility of part exchanging for a new build but can't stretch to the 80% LTV limit most banks have imposed.

The shared equity schemes look interesting but you need to have sold first. Shame they won't part ex and do shared equity else I'd be packing right now lol.

Pawpurrs, fingers crossed for you. Hope the morning brings some good news.

pawpurrs, good luck for tomorrow, we'll be thinking of you in the morning.

Well we've had a turn up for the books today! Our buyers want to complete next week or week after!

Only one slight snag...we don't know how long until we can complete on the new house, as the land registry problem is holding it up....so we're looking at having to move in with the outlaws for 2-4 (+?) weeks!!

I told our solicitor we probably couldn't do it tonight but we've spoken to the in-laws and they have said we can doss at theirs temporarily, if the alternative is losing the buyers, so i'm going to be back onto the solicitor first thing to let them know.

Just hope our vendors don't change their mind about selling the house now!!:eek::eek:

:rotfl:Devilot, can your buyers not hold on for another week or so, quite normal for a chain to have to wait for others to catch up. Otherwise what are you going to do with all your stuff? It will involve moving twice?

At least your buyers are ready, fab news!

Let's hope the right news comes through for you tomorrow Pawpurrs. If I was keen, I don't think I'd let £5k stand between me and a property I wanted, especially one like yours that doesn't need money spending.

Devilot, the things we go through in this property lark, eh? I'd rent a holiday cottage rather than suffer a month with the MIL, but then she'd second that, I'm sure!

Beki, I liked that line: 'Asset rich & cash poor.' Described my situation perfectly for most of my life!

Lets hope they feel the same eh! Waiting foran answer makes you wonder whether you should have accepted it, but I guess thats part of the game.
They did say they wouldnt increase, but then didnt say no straight away either! Strange situation, in that they said they would go ahead any way at their second offer and let us keep it on the market. Agent had to say no there is no point they havent accepted the offer! odd.

I thought you really wanted that house?
Not telling the EA that!! :D

To be honest, at the weekend we started asking ourselves questions about the layout of the house we saw - not sure it would really give us what we need. I suppose a second viewing would help, but I'm not even suggesting that until we get a decent offer on our place

The ones that came yesterday have offered elsewhere. Still waiting to hear about the Lady who said she wanted it.
The chap who offered has refused to come up the 5k that I need, so I dont know what to do about that?
Should I take it or not?
