hey geordie did you see on the news that the tourist board are thinking of dropping the 'county' from 'county durham' apparently people think we're in ireland  lol. maybe thats why things are slow no one wants to move to "ireland":rotfl:

I did hear something about that. I also heard that we are applying for the Capital of Culture so we can host the likes of the Brit Awards......perhaps at The Gala?!!!! All the same I love living here.....just wish a few more people felt the same (particularly those who would like to live in 'an immaculate three bed detached property in this sought after village..... etc')

Well if the EA won't plug my house I'll try any opportunity!

I have put my house up for sale for the second time but, despite pricing as low as I dare, not one viewer. Bit annoyed with the EA. I haven't signed the details off and he has advertised it globally (without a comment that the vendor has yet to sign the details off), they sent the details to the wrong address and I have only just received them nearly six weeks on. They put up a board I didn't agree to and were rude to my tenants which didn't help. I live in the South East. Good luck to all those still waiting.

    Hello Folks, Old and newbies!
Congratulations to those that have gone Under offer, or eschanged :j
And comiserations to those who have had sales fall through:rolleyes:
Glad to see I have been missed, no the house is STILL not sold! But I have been away, and just got back.
There were two viewings while I was away, one said she loved it but felt that she needed more room downstairs, so was going to speak to planning regarding a conservatory, as the house is listed, it would need to be done in Hard wood, but that was a week ago and the Agent hasnt heard from her since, so dont know if she has ruled it out or not.
Another viewing today, the Lady that I thought was a real time waster, the FTB looking to rent the property out as a BTL, when I came back their was a wedding at the church opposite (only the second one since I have lived here, so there was a real parking issue, I dont know if that would have been occuring when she came to view earlier.)
I went to sicily as I had seen some houses out there, but think I have ruled Sicily out as a move to destanation.
Any one nothing too exciting to report!
    Pawpurrs x ;)

Hi all, first post on this board. EA coming in to take new photos next Friday of a house we have been renting out since last September, after sale fell through at the last minute.

Thankfully after lots of panics due to state of garden the tenants have actually improved the house. New lino in kitchen, downstairs rooms & 1 bedroom freshly painted & even a new white sink in 2nd bedroom to replace a slightly cracked grey 1. They were looking at long term but due to job loss can no longer afford it.

I hope weather stays good this week so on Tuesday once final handover has been done I can get grass cut & sort it out.

We are realistic about prices & we are prepared to be negotiable. We just want to sell to reduce our current mortgage for our fianancial security. Properties are moving here if priced realistically. EA actually has said to put it on at more than I expected. (They are usually the most pessimistic of the 3 in the village regarding prices)

Just hope we get some viewings over the next Bank Holiday at the end of the month.
