Good luck Pawpurrs. Let us know how it goes.
I shall give you all an update.
The people we were buying from would/could not make a decision so I withdrew my offer on Friday. I have since put an offer in on another house that is bigger and is £10k cheaper. There is no upward chain and the people will be moving out on 22 May, so I guess that will be our completion date. The EA for the people we were going to buy from phoned this morning to say that they were now prepared to go into rented accomodation, thus breaking the chain. I told him, unfortunatley that ship has sailed and I have already filled out a new mortgage application and instructed my solicitor.
So now I have to wait for the valuation to be done and the new mortgage offer to be made. It should all happen by the end of next week, fingers crossed.0 -
Wednesday is the viewing day, they are coming from abroad. Still to be confirmed.
Blimey Cindie, you dont mess about! I rarely find more than one house I like! Although the way I feel at the moment, any house will do as long as location is right, bought this house because I loved it, even though I knew the location was wrong!Pawpurrs x0 -
Pawpurrs
If I hadn't of made a decision, the chances are we would of been homeless for a period of time. We could have stayed with relatives but we have a dog and two cats.
The house that we revoked the offer on didn't need anything doing to it at all. The one we have decided on is in good condition but needs a bit of updating. We only have one child and he is 16yo now and we never see him at home (he's all loved up with a new gf at the moment). My hubby and I are bored, we have nothing to do, so we decided on a bit of a fixer upper and at least we have a clearer idea of when we are moving now.
To be fair, we could have just run with it, but the thought of losing our buyer and putting our house bank on the market and all those house viewings again, I'd rather stick hot pins in my eyes.
In our area the EA are fast running out of 4 bed detached to sell. Alot of properties that are on right move in our area are either under offer or sstc. The market seems to be very lively at the moment. I think it is spring fever and I hope that you can tap into it and get your house sold.
The next time I move, it will be to an old people's home0 -
Hope it all goes through smoothly for you, bet the old vendors wish they had made a quicker decision to go in to rented!
I hope we get an acceptable offer soon, I really want to move on, its been a dreadful time, since we moved here, then the decisions to be made will be a bit scary!Pawpurrs x0 -
Sellers should ALWAYS know what they are prepared to do... you snooze, you loose (as Cindie's sellers found out). Cindie, hope that the new house turns out weven better than the house that you pulled out from: sounds like the new one could be fantastic once you fix it up
Pawpurrs, REALLY good luck on Wednesday. At least you have a couple of days to make everythign perfect.

Just to let you guys know its just as frustrating being a would be buyer at the moment.
Seem to spend all my time phoning round estate agents going to viewings and checking that the same kind of finance is still available.
And if you think it is annoying being "stood up" for a viewing as a seller its even more so as a buyer.
Im amazed that vendors still treat you like a moron when you make them an offer on their house has been on the market for over a year.Making money online in 2009 to date earnt:

I think that you might be very wrong there... ok it is annoying, as a buyer, to be stood-up.... BUT you haven't spent the last 4 hours making your house look perfect, have you?
If you think that being stood-up as a buyer is bad, then read this complete thread: might give you some perspectiversootarsing wrote: »Im amazed that vendors still treat you like a moron when you make them an offer on their house has been on the market for over a year.
Maybe they are just not motivated to sell? Sounds like it.
