Ours got flowers and a complete history of the house. For another £5k, they could have had the wine too!
Sorry to hear you are being messed around so much. You must have the patience of a saint.0 -
I agree with Davesnave...
Some people out there ARE buying houses, but they are being picky... If they buy again now, then they want it to be longer term (at least 5 years, preferably 10+ years). So as Davesnave says, people are giving a lot of thought as to what they buy: not only does it suit them now, but will it suit them in 10+ years (is there room for expansion/improvement?).
The right house at the right price WILL sell now.... Houses at the wrong price are very unlikely to sell. "Wrong" or "Borderline" properties are going to be harder to sell.
Trying to predict the property market at the moment, is like trying to predict the British weather :rotfl:
Good luck.

I agree there are buyers out there but far and few between and the same goes for sellers there are very few properties that I was interested in. Two that I liked didn't even get the chance to view as had sold before our view booking!!. I'm just a few miles from you QTpie!!.
I also agree with pricing those two properties I just mentioned came on at such good prices no wonder they were snapped up!.
Our house I would say at a guess sold for around 2004/5 prices but the 2007 price of the last house sold 2 doors away was so stupidly over priced!.But we bought in 1998 so had lots of equity to play with others are not so fortunate.
Still no news for us still SSTC.0 -
>>I honestly believe that the worst is yet to come, but in saying that I have to acknowledge that my view is coloured by the particular market I'm viewing, where not enough change has occurred. I think we're in a 'dead cat bounce,' but then if I'm incorrect, I made the wrong choices, and nobody likes to be wrong.<<
Thanks Davesnave from what you are saying (I think) rental might be the way to go while we try and shift this and not rush into buying. I looked up "dead cat bounce" so thanks for that too as I am now also know further educated :rotfl: .0 -

Well, I chose to rent, but for me there was little option, as I want to continue living here only until my 'little one' finishes college in July. I've not done this since 1977!
If you read the 'expert' threads on this and other sites you'll not find much close agreement, but then you know what they say:
Economists are people who are too smart for their own good and not smart enough for anyone else's.
Whether it's dead cats or bull traps (there's another one to Google!) in the end we all make our own judgements. At least if we are on this site, that's a sure sign we are thinking and trying to become informed, rather than simply being compliant victims of circumstance.0 -
Just to say Hi I have also been following this thread for some time now!
We have been on the market since the end of August last year. Quiet over the christmas period, changed EA and suddenly had lots of viewings flooding in from January onwards!! All gone quiet again though on the viewings front again. Nice to hear how others are getting on in this wonderful market though and heres fingers crossed for some viewings for us all now the weather is kind of looking better!! :beer:0 -
Welcome Bargain! Nice to see some Lurkers posting.
How many viewings have you had in that time? Any seconds? Any offers? Have you reduced?
You have been on the market about the same time as me......Pawpurrs x0
