Just cought up reading all the posts, went away for the a few days so playing catch up with everything. Everybody seems to be doing so well with getting everything sorted. I have the cleaning all sorted but I have decided that this weekend I am going to have a big clean out of mine and BF's clothes, shoes etc and so we have some more space. Bought my sisters christmas pressents and some of BF's. Started to make home made pressies so hopefully I should have those finished in the next two weeks (quite a few to make). Christmas cards made just need to write them out. I am saving the wrapping till December as I love that part and like to wrap them with a good christmassy film on the telly.

I hate people who think that a present is worthless if it didn't cost a fortune. I have so many people like that to buy for and it's an annoyance. Who cares if what you give was a free gift or a little something hand made. WHo cares where it come from as long as it is a well thought out loving gift. Scattymam, you always seem like the loveliest thoughtful person and I think your presents sound great :)

Ah thanks, :santa2: got a sudoku rubiks cube through the post today - 99p on ebay and BNIB. Brilliant, well I'm off to do a 2 hour blitz as MIL is coming over and that will be the living room uptodate too as I've decluttered every last corner of it. So dying to get on with some crafts, never a spare moment though.
  • I always keep the baby freebies I get and put the in DS stocking.
When I was little (I am still only 27) No one I knew had stocking mum used to put a small nail in the bottom of the bed and hang one of our school socks from it and fill it with nuts and fruit. That is one of my fondist memorys.

We always had stockings too. All my friends thought our Christmas was so weird, we went into my parents room inthe morning to open our stockings (and pick on my mum as we could tell all the 3 for 2 offers she'd bought!!), then we weren't allowed our main presents until we'd had breakfast and got dressed, everyone else I know was downstairs as early as poss, wether parents were up or not ripping things open!!!!

I enjoyed my Christmas's as a kid so much that I still follow the stocking, breakfast , main pressie routine now.

Someone else who can't sleep! Looks like you've got a busy day - good luck with the party.

Off food shopping this morning - then back to blitz some kitchen cupboards. I'm going shopping with my mum tomorrow to try to get some more bits and pieces for my daughters so looking forward to that.

PS Had my first bit of Christmas chocolate yesterday!! It was called Mistletoe Kisses - basically a Galaxy with caramel fondant in the middle - delicious!! Bang goes the plan to lose a few pounds before Christmas!!
    The great declutter 2010
Money neutral and thrifty gifty for Christmas 2010 :xmassmile
  • Ohhh I love mistletoe kisses!! Last year I put them in peoples stockings :D

Sarahf if it is an consolation you are making me feel so much better. Everyone seems to be getting so much done and I feel like I am doing a lot of thinking and shopping but not much tidying and getting ready!

It is my mothers birthday tomorrow and I am supposed to have a cross stitch hamper ready for her which I haven't even started. This is not like me I don't know what is going on lately.

I am pretty sure it is the dark nights. Come 8pm it's pitch black and i'm yawning ready to retreat.
