12 weeks sounds like nothing.
I feel the same as everyone - all planning, no actioning.
Should be able to get on next week with things. This week DD's nursery is only an hour each day as it's the first week so I can't get anything done. But next week it's two and a half hours and I'll be able to get home and do things.
I have to get on with the grand plan cleaning as MIL is coming over tomorrow.
The rudolph club meeting today on OC is talking about getting on with buying gifts and making homemade gifts, I felt like I was getting somewhere but now I feel a bit behind. In fact I haven't started any crafts yet...me and SIL are meeting next week for an evening to start our christmas scrap books that we are giving as gifts and I bought a christmas craft set from Home Bargains. Going to add those reindeer flannels to my list for DD's teachers. Always planning...never getting anywhere.0 -
Argh! I'm getting nowhere fast! Every time I get something done, something unexpected crops up and adds something else to my "to do" list! And now we're back to stripping wallpaper and painting this weekend - there goes any plans I had for this weekend of getting any of the Christmas prep done! I seriously feel like one step forward, two steps back right now.
Still trying to clear the paper tiger out of the dining room - have 2 boxes of shredding to do and DS (2yo) is terrified of the noise of the shredder - and he can hear it all over the house! I tried it during his nap the other day and he STILL heard it and woke up! Pulling my hair out here! I'm going to have to actually have DH take him out of the house for a walk on Saturday, even for just 30 minutes, so I can get some of this shredding done! I have to get the dining room cleaned up nicely so I can sort out all my Christmas crafts there.
Putting stuff on ebay tonight (cloth nappies, baby clothing) - as soon as that sells, we'll have more money and more room in the dining room, as it's all boxed in the dining room as well.
I just want to work on my Christmas cards! *sob*MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
After starting so well last week, it's so good to know I'm not the only one thinking I'm far behind!
I've had a really busy week and have achieved nothing from the OC plan - I'm thinking of leaving the kids bedrooms until after the October holidays (they're off between 3 October and back on 20th October).
May do some kitchen cupboards this weekend but am planning to go shopping with my mum to get the rest of the pressies!
Think positive guys - we are well on the way to being organised - any little thing we do now is something we don't have to do in December!!The great declutter 2010Money neutral and thrifty gifty for Christmas 2010 :xmassmile0 -
I am so glad I am not alone.:o
I don't have as many rooms to declutter anymore as I did most of it over the summer hols but I have all my garden stuff inside as work is being done on the outside of the house which will not finish til march next year so my main problem is finding were is best to put all this so it is out of the way over Christmas  Not an easy job in a 2 up 2 down  with no cupboards:eek: .
I'm sure we will all do it though no matter what is thrown at us.... Oh how I wish I had a dining room so I could do all my craft stuff out of the way. I only have the Kitchen so you can imagine the mess and the rushing to tidy things away:o
As for Haloween I've printed off a dec itinary and blank lists (my little one's B.days on haloween) for plans and printed some craft ideas out and put them in my grand plan folder so I have everything in one place.
I must get on with making things, other wise half of it won't be made.

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
Started getting dd,s room organised, wish I hadn,t.Have spent 5 hours on it already and it looks worse than when I started. She has way too much stuff.I am never buying lego, bead jewellery kits or anything with teeny tiny parts which you have to sort through a handfull at a time again!!!
Why do kids insist on emptying toy boxes and drawers and just heaping everything on the floor? Are all kids this messy or just mine?
Its not even worth getting her to help as she just screams with excitement when we discover a long lost doll or game under the dressing up clothes or in the art chest and starts playing in the only tidy spot of the room making it messy again before I have even finished tidying.
Kids???"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Sheloves - I absolutely know what you mean - my daughter was the same way! And my 2yo son feels it's his duty to pull everything out of the drawers as I'm cleaning another part of his room! Arrggh!
But I'm determined to get something done today!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
The same here my daughter just doesn't like things in boxes - she prefers it all over the floor !!! Why do toys come with so many bits anyway - it drives me mad.
I just can't seem to get tidy - I start on one room and no sooner than I've finished that room she's destroyed another room, I just can't ever get totally uptodate, ever.
Found some bargain red school bus bags today down a little street of shops I usually don't go down - they were 59p so one is for DD and one is for her friend - bargain there.0 -
I didnt get any more tidying done but I did get all the pressies I have bought so far spread out to have a look at.I have already bought enough for DD and have spent well under my budget so will just buy the doll she wants and thats that done.
Now onto getting DS,s pressies organised."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Oh I love this thread. No matter how panicked I am, I get the kids in bed.. come have a naughty nosey on here.. and you all explain your lives just how mine is!
I have decided to turn it into something positive and remember before I buy things.. am I buying it because it is cheap or because it is what they really want? This will stop me from having tons of toys everywhere that they hardly play with and far too much to unwrap on christmas morning.
I don't have a dining room and keep all of my crafting things in an expedit from Ikea in the bedroom. I have the one wall of the room to myself with my desk etc.:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Hi Just joined thread, I can't wait till christmas DS will be 2 this year so it will make more sence to him.:j
DH and me have agreed not to get each other anything this year (Really on a tight budget) instead we said we would make each other some thing we have a £10 budget for each other.
I have been picking bits up all year for DS so got a couple of things in.
Just declutted two cupboards, and been putting some clothes and toys on freecycle to clear the room.
I forgot to say also made and wrote christmas cards for all of hubby's side of family:j Nuts about christmas since 1981:j
